It makes the game almost unplayable. Call of Duty doesn't have near as noticeable input lag. Bungie - release an update that fixes this. Also, team duals is not fun - get rid of it.
Posted by: RippinThreads
Posted by: db0l I think the lag you see is your eyes adjusting from 60fps in COD to 30fps in Halo. Its a big adjustment when you go back to 30fps.
So Blu Rays running at 24 FPS look rubbish then?
No, because movies use blurring techniques that make the difference in FPS's barely noticeable. This doesn't exist in video games so you can tell the difference between 30 and 60 FPS.

It has nothing to do with the game. It's your tv that determines how quick the response time is.
Posted by: StreetGlower
Posted by: Decimator Omega What are you talking about? It doesn't, at least not my Sony Bravia.
I have the same TV! What size? Mine's a 48".
They don't make a 48".

It's the TV not the game. [Edited on 12.24.2009 12:48 AM PST]

you bought the wrong tv. I did some research (took 10min) I bought a 22 inch 1080P LCD TV. Bigger is not always better. You will have more input lag the higher the tv generally speaking. lol @ blaming bungie for it..oh god. [Edited on 12.23.2009 11:55 PM PST]

H3 could stand to support a higher resolution so the tv wont have to do as much work up scaling it. H3 only goes up to 640 pixels or some -blam!- like that. It is the tv but h3 is also not good that big, you get me? MW2 works great with huge sets but halo sucks unless the set has a top of the line refresh rate. This is what I have seen by experience. I too have noticed this lag after playing some COD. After a few games, the feeling wears off...but then it's back again after I play COD.
-
I don't see the lag - I feel it when I move the right thumb stick. By the way my tv is a brand new LG 42 inch LCD and I'm using hdmi. I tried all the major brands of tvs and Samsung and Sony had the worst input lag out of all of them. I just don't understand why they haven't made a larger lcd that reacts to video games like a crt with no input lag at all. I mean the technology has been around for years! And for the ignorant people that posted - this in "input lag" not internet lag and ALL larger hdtvs have it whether you notice it or not.

My TV has a 10ms response time on a 46", and I do just fine. [Edited on 12.16.2009 11:18 AM PST]

I have a 46" Samsung LCD I play on. Many newer TV's like mine now come with a VGA input standard. If your TV has a VGA input, do yourself a favor a run down to your nearest gamestop and pick up a pair of used VGA cable for your xbox 360(they're only $15 used). When I switched from using an HDMI the difference was noticeable. If you do this however, don't expect that you'll become the greatest halo player(because that was holding you back)it will only slightly alter you playing experience. Once again though, input lag has to do with your TV, not Halo 3. If you have an old CRT TV in the house, you might want to try and hook this up and play Halo on it, as CRT's generally have very minimal input lag.

A video running at 24 FPS is different than a game running at the same frame rate. There is something called motion blurring that you must take into consideration. [Edited on 12.16.2009 10:36 AM PST]

I'm playing with a wireless controller and a wireless adapter through my 38" LCD TV and it runs perfectly, so it must be the stuff you are using. Admittedly, my HDMI cable cost £40, but I can't see it making a difference in input lag. Also, there would be no different from one game to the next so I don't know how you're getting that...

I don't understand why you brought blu-ray into the discussion.
I was trying to show you that your argument doesn't make any sense, it's all in your head. If what you say was true, then for example a Blu Ray would look appaling in comparison to say CoD, given that one has nearly three times the frame rate of the other. In reality they both look the same, if 24 FPS (the standard frame rate for film) wasn't smooth, then Blu Rays, even DVDs would have adopted a higher frame rate, they haven't done this as there is no need to.

I own a technosonic cheap ass HD tv and i get no lag at all. If you have no idea what brand that is it is produced by philps i think, for tesco (supermarket). lol, it's either your TV or maybe your cable?
Posted by: W4g45m Ok, could someone tell me what VGA cables are and what they do, where you would get them, how much they cost?
VGA cables are the cables that a computer monitor uses. It has multiple pins inside a rectangular like metal casing. You can get one for your xbox at best buy for $30. Hope this helps Orbital
Posted by: Anthony2K6 Anyone have any suggestions for a good gaming HDTV for 500 or less with game modes? Any help will be appreciated.
Depends on the size. If you want a good gaming "screen" go for a computer monitor with 2ms response time. They are probably around 300 bux but you can get a VGA cable for your xbox for around 30 so thats like $350. check out http://www.viewsonic.com/products/lcd-tvs/nx2232w.htm They use these at the MLG events. Hope this helps Orbital
Posted by: guy733 You have no idea wat you are talking about ETSU. Quit making uneducated responses. Again, google "input lag."
You sir are insane. Large TVs(50"-bigger) have it..but not smaller TVs. I have a 37" LCD and have no noticeable lag at all. Your just complaining about the game because you lost or something. Yes input lag is a fact...but not for you. Get an newer or a Old TV. I am tired of explaining this fact to people. You can't see a difference in the lag. Your HUMAN EYE cannot see it...and if you can then you are either.. A: The Terminator B: A cyborg C: An Alien D: Don't know what your talking about...so you blame Halo 3. I am leaning more towards D myself. [Edited on 12.16.2009 9:58 AM PST]

I use a 32" Samsung HDTV 720P with an HDMI cable and I have no lag. I dont think the controller matters because I use a wireless, always have used a wireless, and it is almost like there is no input lag. Get an HDMI cable or get a VGA cable for your xbox. I use that on my small 17" monitor and its the same. I dont know if it will work with larger monitors but i know that there is not a resolution for non wide-screen monitors. Hope this helps. Orbital

I have no trouble with it at all on Halo. The reactions as close to instanteous as ive seen. In fact its a LOT worse on most other games. Not sure about CoD because i hate it and dont have it.
