elites maybe out of multyplayer updated with new info

ok in halo 2 chief and arbiter went hand in hand to halo 3.and it gave bungie a reason to make them look friendlier but now (reach) chief and Thel 'Vadamee(the arbiter of now) want to choke the other to death so there is a small chanche the elites might be removed out of multyplayer. also because too many ten year old gets the game to play as dinosaurs that can shoot stuf(=joke or not XD) + a lot of people change to this in team swat to get a advantage(for me not because for some reason the green hud distracts me)(=reality) update:mark 6 = elite armor mark 4 =/= elite armor edit 2: also if they return as enemys they might become like halo ce's bigger and scarrier and thus changing the hit box edit 3: here is something new a reason they could be in mp: ii think most heard of bioshock 2 witch has a completly diffrent campaing then its mp (you are not the same kind ass the main character) so bungie might keep us in mjolnir M6 but with mark 4/5 customation (like mark V helmet in H3) or they put the elites in a prototype version of thier suit (elite armor beta perhaps?) witch is just as good as the spartan one (not sure if its mark 4/5 bungie just said spartan II not what armor they are wearing and SPI (SIII armor) is impossible since its stealth(SPI) and not shield) edit 4 : spartan III are not as strong as spartan II and are defentily weaker then elites so who knows. ALSO new enemy has been announced (if im not wrong) witch looks like a jackal elite off spring (who knows what has happend XD) so we might have elite like counter parts for mp edit 5: it is said we get mjonlnir mark 5 but in lenght we are still alot smaller then the elites thus making thier hitboxes bigger. SO THESE ARE POSSIBLE REASON THAT ELITES MIGHT DISSEAPPEAR FROM MP IM NOT SAYING I WANT THEM OR THAT THEY ARE DISSEAPPAERING FROM MP msg to all people who say you can shoot a elite from behind on the same hieght withh a carbine/pistol or br......YOU CANT BECAUSE THIER BACK IS IN THE WAY(except for spike helmet witch sticks out a bit) [Edited on 01.23.2010 3:53 PM PST]

  • I belive Bungie carefully re-designing the Elites is a good sign that they want to improve the playability for MP. The elites so-far look more up-right again & seem to have less bulk (& for MP their larger size could be tuned down) which as size goes would basically out them on-par w/ the Spartan players. Oh & those new things your talkin about are the Jackal Skrimishers. The charge at you head on in flocks of 5/6 instead of Just sniping or carefully hiding behind their sheilds.

Was the elite to? Is the elite right now a lot bigger witch would lead to waste of disk space for inverting a second model because else is unbalanced?

  • I figured that was a redesign of the second halo CE elite helmet. I dont think thats a councilor helmet. Its clearly a combat unit and high charity was not at reach.

  • i still don't know, i still have hope because bungie made the counsiler helmet smaller. A significant change? maybe not, perhaps they did this in order to implement elites in multiplayer because i can recall dozens of threads asking for that armor. So maybe Bungie is giving us what we asked for. But then again they could just leave the Elites the way they are like in Halo 2 so the elite players have the disadvantage with bigger hitboxes.   • Don't care if elites are out of MP. It would probably balance things more. Also I'm sick of people whining about changes in reach that could affect machinima. Halo is a game. Gameplay is more important than your waste of time fanfiction videos. 95% of Machinima sucks anyway, and the good "machinimakers" should be able to continue to make quality stuff even without a player model. See, Bungie starts to care about all this outside stuff like Machina, MLG, etc and then the gameplay starts to deteriorate because they're trying to please everyone at once. They make games, and they owe nothing to anyone but the people who enjoy to play their games. Machinima is not enough of a reason to keep Elites in multiplayer where they really have no business being considering they're the biggest enemy in the game.

  • Campain <> Story Elites -are- bigger and more threatening, not 'if they are' Body's changed = Hitboxes are changed The Skirmisher, aka the new enemy, is a cousin of the Jackal, essentially the same species with a new tactic. If I have no trouble killing Elites from any angle whatsoever, then Damaged Badger is speaking the truth, and your argument is invalid.[/quote] read the op for god sake also the placment of the hitboxes are the thing that is not the same the back is in the way for most parts of the head or did you not notice that? if you hitted a elite from 20 meter distance (out of melee range) and with the angle bieng 300 then bravo you shot a elite in the head by hitting its ass, the only way to kill a non-spike in the back of the head is from above (like 60 degrees from its position)but its still possible because the back is not in the way). ps:seriously learn hitboxes yourself first[/quote] You Can hit an Elite in the back of the head from directly behind it, its a fact. Alot of the armour is just for show on Elites meaning if you shoot at the edges of it nothing will happen, it will pass right through. Elites and Spartans are far closer than people realise for hit boxes I have tested this and I do know what I am talking about. Closer as in the same size or area but not shape though that is very close too. In Halo 2 elites were gimped and unbalanced. Not in Halo 3. As for Reach I hope Bungie will just make them work for multi player for us who like to use them. One thing though, those stupid assault and Commando heads are bugged they do not take head shots well. Dont believe me. Start a Custom, see for yourself. [Edited on 01.22.2010 1:17 AM PST]
