Elo*. It's the last name of the guy who came up with the algorithm. It was first introduced in chess but now it's used for sports, competitive gaming, etc. It's pretty much a true skill rating where you "steal" points from other teams.
End Of Line
An EOL character is a non-visible character that tells a computer that the current line has ended. The nature of the character is system-dependant. In Macintosh it is a CR (carriage return) character, Linux uses a LF (line feed) character, while Microsoft systems use a combination of both - CR/LF.
It is a source of some consternation for programmers that write cross-platform programs that output text files.
