People were saying that Fallout 4 and BOPS 3 were gonna kill Destiny, but they always come back. So I find it hard to believe that The Division will definitely kill Destiny.
Edit: You can play more than one game at a time? I didn't realise that...

2 RepliesIt was a bait dude You or bungie won nothing ... calm down
-
Apparently it's just too hard to play multiple games over lengthy periods of time.
-
1 ReplyWell the population did drop significantly.
-
I was dissappointed with fallout 4 personally.
-
Fallout 4 broke the Internet when it got released
-
I have them all (well, The Division I'll have in a few more days) and play them all. Some more than others, but it's possible to play multiple games without losing your soul.. lol

Destiny: The Corrupted Kingdom A visceral darkness stirs. The Taken King is dead. A foe with the power to rend realities, poised to snuff out the last flickering of light is vanquished, by your hand. Yet the curse of Oryx remains. The Speaker believes it grows stronger with each passing moment. A plague of darkness rages through the ranks of the Vanguard. The veil of shadows turns friends into rivals, families into enemies. Every day guardians defect, or worse. An army of immortal soldiers, infused with the power of light, unsure of what to fight for. Heroes have broken, legends are forgotten. All the while the darkness creeps ever closer to the Last City. A shroud of fear clings to the people here. Once again humanity is wrought with suffering, in the clutches of extinction. As for us, in the midst of our newfound wars we've lost our purpose, and thus our true sense of power. We devolve into raiders, mercenaries, and outlaws. Undead warriors, fueled by insatiable hunger, we abandon the good fight, on a desperate quest to replace what we lost. What was taken from us. And as if echoing from the void between realms, we hear the curse of Oryx laughing, as we realize, we are corrupted. Heir to the Dreadnaught or Champion of the City which legend will you become? Confront the enemy within. Come to grips with the residual effects of Oryx’s death in an all new solo story campaign that explores the morality of your own personal war and defines your guardian’s place in the fight against the darkness. Build your Base. How will your legend be fortified? Earn your own personal quarters in the tower as a time honored hero, or take the keys to the dreadnought and create your own house of horrors. Pledge allegiance to your Faction. Choose between New Monarchy, Seven Seraphs, Future Warcult, Dead Orbit, and others to take part in the brand new Faction wars system. Earn exclusive gear, shaders, and ghost effects. Fight for what you believe in. Nightfalls 2.0 Take advantage of the revamped nightfall playlist and the retooled modifier system to experience unprecedented power and earn top tier rewards. Crucible 2.0 Apprentice with Lord Shaxx and hone your skills against the toughest warriors in the universe. The competition is fiercer than ever with new modes, berserker, standoff and primal. Raise the stakes with the all new Rivalry playlist. This high intensity Crucible challenge allows fire teams to develop their abilities against opponents guaranteed to provide an extreme test of skill. Raids 2.0 Gather your fire team, gear up and prepare to face down the darkness hell bent on resurrecting your most formidable foes. Earn brand new gear and reforge the legends of old. The Vault of Glass: Kabr A legend shatters, investigate a break in the Vault, unravel the long lost mysteries trapped in the Vault of Glass and silence the ticking of evil at its heart. Crota's End: The possession of Eris Morn, exercise the ghosts in the Dark below, and confront the tortured children of Crota to banish the twisted idol before his wrath brings eternal darkness. Ragnarok Mode, this extreme difficulty is only possible for the most legendary guardians, Raids will introduce modifiers, alternate mechanics and exclusive rewards for those capable of withstanding the hellacious challenge. Next time on Destiny: Veil of Shadows….”You know that ancient saying right, friends close….enemies closer.”

The audio ride along will bring millions of new players in to Destiny, I promise. My personal ESP professional just confirmed this fact after my $350 session tonight. #PsychicsAreRealBelieveIt

2 RepliesI don't think it's "they come back", it's more like people who hate this game aren't in large amount, so when they leave destiny for another game, there's not enough leaving to kill the game.
-
The division has similar mechanics but I don't think it will kill destiny but everyone I know is buying it and genuinely looking forward to it people seem a bit disillusioned with destiny at the moment as much as I love destiny it's kinda doing my head in
-
Sadly I think that in the end destiny will kill destiny. I feel like if they continue with this path that people will get tired of waiting for the next big dlc every year. Maybe not but I know I played every day for over a year now and as of the last few weeks I've just not been in th mood. Not that I'm even playing anything else either. I don't know... time will just have to tell
-
Everyone who posts about "this game" will kill Destiny. Those same players will be back playing the game, or bitching on the forums again in about a week. Truth

8 RepliesGood thing it's a video game and can't physically die. Good thing content is what makes people play and we got enough content for 5 months of pretty hard core play. Good thing we're getting more content which is focusing on the replayability aspect of the game coming soon. Good thing we have more content, likely the size if not larger than that other 5 month span coming after that. Good thing there's a mute button on the forums so I don't have to see idiots post their nonsense. (To clarify I'm talking those who say it's dying, not you OP)
-
Apparently 6.4 million people played the Division Beta. During that time I found the tower and other places on Destiny to be a ghost town. Having options is a good thing.
-
Player base Is still declining eventually it will die without more content Year 2 destiny is a joke....I'm waiting for destiny 2 hope Bungie get their sh*t together
-
Bungie killed destiny
-

1 ReplyPeople are just brain dead sometimes enjoy whatever game you like. Boom

The division will kill the destiny forums. So far I've met 30+ guys this past week who were new. Between them trying to do the raid, kicking arse in crucible, or just trying to complete some patrol missions. The points is that there are new players coming to destiny. We've lost many players to Halo, Battlefront, Witcher, Blops, you name it, I see very few people that used to play destiny back in vanilla. I also have made a ton of new friends. Ones that are stuck at 290ish. Destiny may be dead for the people here but it isn't dead for the people who aren't. Personally I haven't found a game that feels as good as destiny does. I love it and as long as I can't find another game that scratches that same itch for me and as long as I can jump into the crucible and find a match in less time than it takes me to make popcorn I will be here and I will believe that destiny is not dead.

1 ReplyDestiny Killed Destiny, now STFU!

Nobody bought a console to play one game. They always come back to their favorite. I love playing other games too.
