Some days I wreck (more than not nowadays) and other days I get trashed, trousers pulled down and spanked raw!!!
Why is that? I don't play any differently!
FYI I'm only using the last word for the Chaperone bounty (I kinda really like it, I'm at 70% done in 3 games)
EDIT: Thought I'd share one of my more consistent games, please note that the game I had after this was awful. I do not wish for you to see it!
Enjoy some wrecking though (maybe only slightly wrecking)

It seems to be what the map is for me. Some I love, and do good on. Some, I hate, and just suck on.

1 ReplyDestiny pvp is trash lol. I'd love to see a good Destiny pvper be good in cod (or at least maintain a 2 or above) without radar, super that grants multiple kills and rechargeable grenades

This sums up pvp for me in a nutshell too. One game I'll wreck and get a 3.5kd, the next game I'll go 0.6 or something. I have a pristine almost neutral 1.01 overall kd (in clash possibly) which pretty much illustrates my ups and downs (although it's going up slowly haha). And this is why I stick more to pve because at least I know I'm consistently rewarded for the effort and skill I put in. Although saying this pvp is ultimately more rewarding when it goes your way. I find rumble more consistent since it's just one on ones which I tend to win, plus it's less sniper friendly. I think that, unless you're a pvp God or totally useless, much of your pvp success is down to luck, what map you're on, the enemy team's play styles and load outs (and your team's) etc. That guy you always wrecked in that last game will probably go into another game wrecking another guy and that other guy may go into your next game and wreck you endlessly. It's all about play styles that trump others and get trumped by others. It's like Pokemon. Everything is like Pokemon. We're all Pokemon.

65 RepliesEdited by CharacterZ3RO: 2/29/2016 11:56:33 PMMatchmaking is a rigged deck designed to create the illusion of competition. Let's look at your description. Day one- You play great and go positive winning various accolades and putting up great match performances. You lose a few matches but overall your performance is top notch. Day two- it's as if you have never played the game before. You can't get kills to save your life, you are spawned into enemies an exceedingly inordinate amount of times, and you begin to realize you are now on the receiving end of the ass kickings you were handing out yesterday. It's not an accident, it's not random, it's deliberately designed in this fashion - to take turns letting all players win and lose- by creating stacked teams of players of various skill levels when putting a match together. Ever wonder why you are constantly doing awesome but still lose becuase the last two people on your team got a collective 8 kills and 36 deaths between them? That's part of the algorithm that determines teams. The game reviews your performance, determines you are outperforming the average score of other players within your bracket, and then bumps you up to the next higher skill bracket. It will keep you here and run new metrics to measure your performance and after a set amount of games will reassess you average score compared to others and either keep you in the bracket or bump you back down if you perform poorly, or below the average. Would you like to wager what happens when you are bumped into that higher skill bracket? It's called day two of your story. You find yourself going negative and losing. Matches you win, you still do horribly, and you probably cost your team the game due to excessive deaths more than a few times. When you get bumped into that higher bracket you are there to lose, you have no chance of winning, you are there so the other team has there turn to win. Don't worry though, after about 4-7 rounds of getting pounded like a salvation army drum, the game will say OK he's had enough, and drop you back down to your day one bracket where you will get wins, kills, and generally have fun playing the game. Be careful though playing really well will move you back up to the shark tank quicker and you don't want that. Once you realize that pvp is a rigged contraption designed to throttle your progression and waste as much time as possible, and that your skill just doesn't matter when you are riding the merry go round of being put in games against teams that the algorithm has determined to be better than/ worse than yours at 1:1 intervals you will be alot happier. Pvp is fun to play about one or two days a week. Playing daily will leave you on tilt and in gamer nerd rage mode since you are constantly dealing with the " bullshit" and just playing one more round hoping you get that winning game where you get 30 kills and a dopamine shot to the brain. Pvp is a slot machine like the rest of the game, expect minimal payouts with the occasional jackpot, and for the most part, the house always wins.

It's been happening for months. Noticed it before TTK. I'm decent at regular Crucible but it was bad this morning. I was getting killed by Arminius - D and The Last Word and I was using Thunderlord. So frustrating.

1 ReplyI loved the pulse rifle meta. Great equalizer for hand cannons and scouts.
-
1 ReplyIn Most of my matches in iron banner this past week I had a negative kd. I dunno wtf was going on. It was terrible. I hate this current meta.

On a good day I'm average

I feel your pain.

Edited by WickedMisfit530: 3/1/2016 6:33:12 PMI'm pretty sure something is wrong with the game (other than the obvious stuff) that screws with hit detection. I also have those games where I do really well and all my shots seem to be landing and dealing the proper damage and the time to kill seems right for the weapons I am using but a lot of games it seems like hit detection is way off and I can unload into a guardians face after getting the jump on them only to die to them before they've taken enough damage to die themselves. Then there are also those games that everyone has experienced where your shots don't register at all and you die in the blink of an eye but that l believe is lag. And for the record I do not consider myself good by any means. I have been trashed enough times to know for a fact I am a scrub that will never ever "git gud"

I only really play rumble for fun or do sweats. But I already posted in this forum a little earlier
-
I can go from 4.0 kd's to 0.30 in one day haha. Sometimes the other way around. But usually just below a 1.2
-
What I find is that when I am on a team in which either one or both my team is much better than me...I play much worse. If I am on a team in which I am equal or better I play so much better...so weird.
-
1 ReplyI usually wreck, but there are going to be days when you're not in your moment. ~TheGreatNike
-
Yes. About 50:50 nowadays. Much worse when I started though.
-
That happens to me all the time..
-
It's SBMM at work
-
I'm good at trials 1.40 kd and up on all characters I think but control I'm not to great still got a 1.0 though
-
6 RepliesWhat class do you main?
-
2 RepliesI think I'm better than my KD cause I was so horrible in the beginning. I suck at trials tho but am good in IB & regular crucible
-
Yes, it's because of the skill based matchmaking adding more lag
-
1 ReplyI feel the opposite, based on trials.. however, i'm a decent pvp player but, seems when I play with my clan and a fireteam I get destroyed.. play on my own and i'm top of the board or close to it.. kd changes from .6 - .9 when in my clan fireteam to 1.5-2.0 when I play on my own.. I play no differently and the only change is it feels like what I am shooting when I play on my own, is actually really in front of me and I actually hit it, instead of in my fireteam feeling like what I shoot at isn't really there or taking damage at all..
-
2 RepliesMy K/D is directly related to the number of camping snipers on the other team. The more they have, the worse I do. And I refuse to play that way, which is why I love Drifter.
-
1 ReplyI'm in the same boat as you. I don't get it. I'll have a great couple matches. Over 2 or 3 kd and then the next match I'll have like a 0.6.....it's pretty frustrating. The only medals I haven't achieved either are unbroken, seventh column, and we've ran out of medals
-
8 RepliesEdited by Le_Reinforcements: 3/1/2016 5:07:22 PMI consider myself pretty bad at Crucible. Never been flawless. Never achieved a Phantom. Never been Unbroken. Don't snipe. Mostly run Defender Titan. But I try to be a team player. A solo...team player. Edit: Hug quota met. Much respect to my fellow lone wolves, but I'm pretty much just killing time till Dark Souls III and Mass Effect: Andromeda.
-
I agree 100%. I've got games where I am 34 and 2 and then I've got games where I spend most of my time running just to not get killed again and losing for the team with a .18
