I honestly thought this was satire.
Shotguns. And blink jump. Is still. The worst thing ever.
At least sniping requires skill.
There is some sniping I have seen. But I feel it's almost due to the issue that if anyone gets within 20 feet of you you are absolutely screwed.

Skill? Hah I picked up a sniper rifle yesterday for the first time in well over a year and went positive in every game. Zero skill required. At least with a shotgun you actually have to get close to your enemy.
-
People still believe shotguns are OP like year 1, there is so much risk to running a shotty now more then ever. Sometimes you will not do as much damage as you'd hope even if you feel you are well within range.
-
I've been right in front of someone with a Party Crasher and it does like nothing.

Edited by LoanLizard: 2/25/2016 6:31:01 PM"Zero skill required" no And then he goes on to imply that shotguns require skill... get this man out of here. edit: this comes from someone who only recently started using snipers

I never said shotguns required skill, but at least you need to be able to get somewhat near your enemy instead of just hiding on the opposite side of the map.
-
Maybe you're good at the game? Give yourself some credit. I primarily used a sniper as well and was mostly positive. I also quit the game for 3 months and HATE PVP in destiny. Just look at the statistics. It's plain and simple. Shotguns get more kills.
-
That logic is inherently flawed. More people use shotguns so shotguns will get more kills. Check the stats at https://destinytrialsreport.com/ before you make silly statements. Snipers are significantly more powerful than shotguns, if they weren't they wouldn't take a giant majority of the meta.
That logic is inherently flawed. More people use shotguns so shotguns will get more kills.
That's pretty much what I said. Thank you, future engineer. My full and total statement would be simply that I am killed more frequently by shotguns than snipers. I have not played a match (IB) where I was NOT killed by a blink jump/shotgun combo, let alone by simply more overall. I have also not played a match where I did NOT get sniped.
-
You are satire, blink shot gun? I've yet to see it. Snipers are in everygame.
-
Well i went to check Guardian.GG to get facts but the iron banner stats are down at this moment, anyways last two IB shotguns doubled the amount of kills than sniper (17-18%) compared to 9%.. So based on the past times i have checked i going to go with shotguns probably still make up the majority kills like in normal clash normal clash stats: http://guardian.gg/en/weapon-stats?platform=2&start=2016-01-26&end=2016-02-24&mode=12&activity=0 http://guardian.gg/en/weapon-stats?platform=1&start=2016-01-26&end=2016-02-24&mode=12&activity=0 Here is the IB stats from beginning of Jan (only ones that are up for some reason but still gets the point across) http://guardian.gg/en/weapon-stats?platform=2&start=2016-01-01&end=2016-02-24&mode=19&activity=0 GG THO!
From Z from lower in this post.

When did i tell you that shotguns didnt amount for a lot of kills? I said that "blink shotgun" which is what you had previously stated that was more common than someone using a sniper, was not as common. So in simple terms blink shotgun is much less common than someone equipping a sniper, not that sniper make up more kills.
-
Do you live near a beach? Our experiences apparently differ. And I must also really suck at covering myself at close distances.
-
Who knows, it could be an zone related matter. More ppl use snipers where i live, more use shotguns where you live. I can see that happening.
-
I think it's a domino effect. Once I get sniped so many times I think hell I will go snipe that guy. Then I fail and think ok well hell I will go and shotgun him! And success! For maybe that round. Then switch back to sniping. I just like sniping more I guess.
-
I also failed to mention ive mostly been playing Trials of Osiris so i may have been biased towards seen more snipers than shottys. There is definitely a satistaction in getting a good kill with the sniper as opposed to one kill with shotty, at least in my case.
-
Well I just played 2 hours of iron banner and I'll be seeing the phrase "1000 yard stare" in my dreams. I got sniped all night. Hallways. Holes. Ledges. Corridors. Cliffs. Ridges. Rooftops. They're everywhere.
-
Yeah its a little out of hand hahaha
-
I imagine shotgunning in trials is hard. I'd be interested to see a side by side comparison of weapon types sorted by regular crucible/IB/trials. I've only done a little bit of Trials and for the most part it seemed like distant engagements.

We must have very different connections.
