Ghost on Mombasa Streets
Yea, I know its already been seen, blah blah and all that.
Just posting to add that completing levels OUT OF ORDER seems to be the trigger to make a ghost spawn. I.E. load up the free-roam Mombasa Streets and do levels in any order you like - excluding data hive of course.
This seems to work best on legendary, and the most successful combination appears to be completing levels UP TO ONI Alpha site in order, skipping Alpha site and jumping to NMPD Headquarters. The ghost spawns one street across when you re-enter Mombasa Streets, every time.
I'm not sure if merely completing the level prior to Alpha Site then skipping to NMPD spawns the ghost, it may well be you have to do all levels.

Wtf ghosts!!! LOCK YOUR DOORS!!! I've seen a ghost spawn by NMPD Headquarters my first time playing though, which was in random order. So this guide appears to be correct.

I've found it before, several times. Once, I even got out of it, found a clue, played through a mission, and when it went back to mombasa streets, the ghost was sitting right behind me, as a mongoose would be.

Ya i got the ghost two the grunt was patroling in it. than i just hijacked him.

I found the Ghost whilst playing the game in order on Mythic. He turned the same corner I did just as I was ehading to the NMPD HQ beacon. Luckily I had Rockets as I was expecting him, but otherwise he can appear at any time I think. I definitely recall a Ghost also appearing near one of the walkway sections similaar to where you fight the Hunters in Tayari Plaza.

That's interesting. I've jacked a ghost from a brute in the NPDHQ district (I'm almost positive it was that one) while I was doing the missions in order. I always play it on Heroic so that may have something to do with it. Edit: Responding to the post above me, YES! My ghost disappeared as soon as I tried to take it out of the district. My guess is that the loading sequence causes it to disappear, other districts might only be able to support mongooses. [Edited on 12.03.2009 2:45 PM PST]

But when i was looking for logs a few weeks ago i had like 4 ghosts in a supply cache, as well as beam rifles, fuel rods, etc. [/quote] Yes, they do disappear. Just tried it again today, watched for the loading screen - as pointed out by a previous poster - then got out when NOTHING was loading or saving. Waited about 30 seconds after it finished loading to get out. Ghost promptly vanishes.

You have to be in it after it says loading done. I guess the game isn't made to be seen with a ghost.

they just spawn randomly when you drive a mongoose. i've actually created a cache of them when i was looking for logs--much better than mongai, because you can shoot and boost and splatter those hunters lol. Also i did it on easy. Nothing special about it [Edited on 12.03.2009 12:53 PM PST]

A Ghost usually spawns when you start driving a Mongoose. You don't even have to drive too long. Well, that's one sure way I can think of.

I can't remember what level we just completed but I was playing with a friend and just completed the mission that is triggered by finding the broken gauss cannon and a ghost drove towards us from down the road directly in front of you. This thread is eerie because I was just about to start one that asked if other people have found a ghost on Mombassa Streets :P (btw we were on normal difficulty and skipped ONI Alpha Site) [Edited on 12.02.2009 8:28 AM PST]
