The solution to all the OP weapons in crucible/trials/PVP in general.
...is to nerf fusion rifles and sidearms. I ran into several trials teams using sidearms that created sniper rifle ammo and one team with a guy trying to use a fusion rifle.
Don't get me wrong, letting sidearms be exploited to get special ammo for other weapons is working as intended, but I was panicking the entire time they might actually use it; the thought of them using a sidearms had me worried. So I think they need a nerf; 10-15 rounds is too much ammo, 3 rounds seems more balanced.
That fusion rifle user...jeez he actually managed to kill one of my teammates with a well placed Plan C shot; this is way overpowered since it could kill sometimes outside the range of my conspiracy theory - D and thus is in need of another nerf.

See... Most people don't just use the sidearm for ammo. I use mine on occasion and then try to grab ammo, because if you don't... you don't get more then 4 shots. The sidearm exploit is minor compared to these icebreaker and invective's. Plan-C is powerful, but it's been changed since Year 1 and is no longer nearly as good as it was. You're targeting the wrong weapons, I would reconsider deleting your post.
