Dirty Halo Tricks!
Welcome to a nasty, filthy, horrible look at the awful things people around here, and some other Xbox luminaries, do to feel better about themselves in Halo. The uncharitable might call it cheating, but here, they're just some Dirty Halo Tricks.

well i read through the first 7 pages and got bored, and even though halo1 is not played as much, this is somethin i didnt see anyone post that I love to do. In blood Gulch, on the red base, grab the tank and drive it up the cliff behind the base. Once there park the tank behind the rock, and turn the body to face the wall. Your tank should be facing the walls of the level. From here just turn the turret around, and you are practically invincible. The elevation allows u to see everything and fire anywhere u want. You can lay down fire on top of your opponents base, defend ur base, and just be a bad ass there. The only thing that can truly hurt u, since ur not facing towards the combat, is a rocket. And you can see that coming for a ways off and easily exit the tank. Try it, people will hate it and just focus on getting u out of it.

And yes. The Guardians. Stalacite: Shoot them wit a shee and fly under and get crushed. Zanzibar: Put a Warthog in front of the blade, like in the pit. Stand behind the warthog where the blade is coming. The blade will smush you into the hog. Either that or drive up the windmill and then the car will flip and you will die.

D@mn i hate it when someone gets Camo, Rocket Launcher and they SPawn kill. Ticks me right off. Like, say in foundation, they just fire into the enemy room, then they score a few kills because thats where you usually spwn in Team Games.

CHEATERS SUCK THEY ARE PEOPLE THAT DO IT IN FEAR OF DEFEAT AND THEY ARE -blam!-ASS PEOPLE WHO RUB IT IN YOUR FACE AND THEN GETTING -blam!- BANNED FROM HALO 2 FOREVER AND THEN THEY KNOW WHY! ok now that is out of my system go on.

back in halo 1 theres this glitch on blood gultch that if you get the ghost on the base you can ram it into the edge of the teleporter just under the wing and it will go into it and almost nothing affects you.

The only one of those tricks that I would consider dirty are the ones that involve camping, like the shinsplitter or just camping in a Blood Gulch base with a shottie. Campers are players who are basically admitting that they're not good enough to play fair.

ok... the warthog "dummy" glitch.I don't know details for how to do it, but heres how to COUNTER IT when they do the cheapness, they become invisible. the refresh of thier character(visible graphic in game) stays at the point when they boarded the warthog which is almost always vehicle spawn points. the reason it's such a -blam!- is that when the "dummy" grabs the flag, one of their teammates touches them, they immediately return to their "body" with whatever weapons/flag they had. so if you fly a banshee to the warthog spawn, it's usually effective, just shoot 'em and hope they don;'t have the flag yet. careful not to screw your RL tactics looking for glitchers though. this is how the other team can grab your flag on coagulation and score in less than 10 secs. there's the "look up throw flag" technique which is just brutal, just bring a teammate. and you can surf a hog/ghost/wratih if you got skills. (try practicing ghost boost launches in custom matches to see how nasty this can be, you can FLY halfway across coagulation in 4secs) take a banshee to the roof in headlong with the rockets to be your defense's "Angel", and knock the blocks down to slow down assaulters also. happy slaughter

one of the cheapest oddball tricks I know. Ascension.Grab the ball and run to the SR location near the tower.On the support that holds up the tower there is a small slanted ledge you can jump to.Thing is, if the enemy jumps down to get you,9 times out of 10,they slide just far enough to be "out of bounds" and fall to thier death.Watch out for rockets though!

Well, lets see here...I had some completely random question: How can you get killed by "The Guardians?" I remember them from Halo 2, but wanted some clarification of what exactly kills you. {Please report back Frankie or someone, I need to actually get this up on the main page of http://www.xbox-evolved.com/} This would help greatly to know how I cannot tick off these heavenly creatures!

I never said that nosebleed snipers and rockets cant be beaten or its hard to. I just said it takes more skill to win without em. But i guess if you gotta use drity tricks and tactics to win then thats what kinda game this is. To beat basterd, be a basterd. Thats all.

Hi dude: Why sometimes people just shoot you once with any weapon and u r dead! Does shooting in the head takes more damage than just shootong in the chest down? It always happens to me! ( with my shield fully regenerated ).

I hate stand-by, too. But what do you think about the glitch where you can take a flag from across the map and score 3 flags in about 3 sec

The things that are dirty tricks are exploiting glitches and cheating (usually using the standby "technique"). Someone jumping through the windows in Beaver Creek, manuvering a ghost or banshiee into the tower in New Mombasa, using grenades/rocket launchers and radar, etc. is just playing the game the way it was meant to be played. Bungie included those things to give you unique moments. I mean its very satisfying to jump through the window in beaver creek and surprise the guard(s) below you (though with an experienced player that wont happen seeing as how most experienced players know to watch the windows or at least take cover underneath the little arch where the flag is). The radar is also very important to the gameplay and is there for a reason. Besides if a player relies on it too much theyll get fragged, seeing as how anyone who bothered to read the instruction manual would know that if you crouch and walk or walk slowly you wont show up on the radar. As for shoving the boxes into the entrences of the bases in waterworks, yes it can be cheap, but its easily counterable. First off it takes a long time to get the boxes all positioned well, and you cant block the top entrence (well you could fly a banshee into the ramp but that still leaves the hole at the top, and its not like its impossible to top over the banshee), so a team that works efficently and well together could easily steal the flag before all the entrences were covered. Also, the blocking is a burden to the defense too seeing as how if the flag carrier gets out of the base, the blockage slows down the offense from chasing the flag carrier. As for grenades, unless thrown well (and if the enemy doesnt spot the telltale sings of a grenade) they wont inflict much damage unless the victim is unlucky enough to be within a foot or two of the explosion (and thats only for frags. with a plasma grenade you have to stick it to the enemy, otherwise it deals out a laughable amount of splash damage. and if you do get stuck with one all you have to do is just charge your oppenent and catch him in the blast, hopefully also taking him out a la kamakaze style). And with rockets and snipers, well snipers at close range are just bullet fodder and rockets at close range have a good chance of killing the attacker too. So as you see, these so called "dirty tricks" are all easily counterable strategies as long as you know what to do, and they add a good bit of fun to the game. I personally wouldnt have it any other way.

I drive my brothers and friends nuts with this little trick. If someone is following you close behind stop and jump backwards over their head in quick sucession and you can kill em pretty easy if you have a shotgun or basicly any weapon from Halo / 2 It is also great fun to have someone hunting you down in a warthog and at the last second jump to the side. They'll either miss or your bounce off the winshield. In Halo2 there's an added bonus to this little sidejump. If your lucky you can press x and hop in the passenger / gunner seat. If your in the side seat drop a nade on the driver. If you grab the gun just hose his teammates

I was playing a game on ivory tower CTF and I was vs some -blam!- noobs spazium t dub 999 scheetje and crazy potatoe and because we -blam!- them hard they glitched somehow. I was standing watching the flag both times and they took it somehow then like 3,4 seconds later it would say they scored. So one or all of them are glitching something. -blam!- sad -blam!-! :@
