(Sigh) Elder Scrolls Oblivion was better than Skyrim. Not that Skyrim was bad in fact it was great. Bethesda just toned down the elements that made Elder Scrolls stand out and made it easier to access.

This. I like to think of oblivion and skyrim as Bethesdas far cry 2 and 3. One is the more popular choice with more "streamlined" systems and is overall an amazing game. But the other is more immersive, more likely to give what you need than what you want,and is fundamentally better,but Both are worth playing and are amazing
