Lugia can learn the move fly.

i know this, because i play a -blam!- ton of pokemon snap and various other games like that bean jump pos from taco bell & those other -blam!- games they used to give out for free that also were pretty bad ass. i smack myself in the balls sometimes.

 •
Posted by: r3dapples
Posted by: MrEnormous52 It is true: Lugia CAN learn Fly, contrary to popular belief. However, I argue that teaching Lugia, one of the more powerful and desirable legendary Pokemon to be found, should not be taught the HM Fly. As a Hidden Machine, Fly cannot be unlearned unless you happen to locate the perpetually evasive Move Deleter, a man whose skills are sought after in all of Johto. Because of the Move Deleter's elusiveness, it is advisable to abstain from teaching Lugia any HM. Instead, I concede with many other experts that it is circumspect for one to leave Lugia's move set largely unaltered from the original; Aeroblast, for example, is an exceptionally powerful move that is inherent to Lugia and is also Flying type, making it an ideal alternative to the deplorable Fly. And so, if you find yourself in the midst of strife when debating which of your Pokemon should be taught Fly, please remember to exclude Lugia in your consideration at all costs. Doing so will ultimately contribute to a more solid, effective roster of Pokemon with which to combat the many opponents you will undoubtedly face on your journeys through Kanto, Johto, Hoen, and even Sinnoh!
what if you've never encountered a bird pokemon & the only poke that can learn the move fly is that lvl 1 lugia? would you teach it fly against it's will or would you man up and teach it fly to get you outta that jam & into a hospital where you can tend to your pokemon? i believe that it is my duty as a trainer to keep the interest of the entire group at hand, and if sacrifising just one move for lugia will save my entire roster, than so be it. • Look at everybody in this thread, no proper grammar or even sentence structure is being used. Besides you understood what I meant anyways. [Edited on 11.25.2009 11:40 PM PST]

Just swap your trainer with your pokemon using an action replay, and use a master ball when in a fight with dawn, then put both of you in the day care.
