I wanted to go with PS4 at the time both consoles were coming out (and definitely would've if Microsoft went ahead with DRM but thankfully, they didn't.) but all my friends as always go with Xbox. So i had to go with the Xbox One if i wanted to be able to play with them.
Eventually i also got a PS4 as well but haven't really touched it since i haven't got much games to play on it and having to pay for both PS plus and Xbox Live gold doesn't help. I will eventually fire up my PS4 to play Bloodborune and other exclusives though. But if i didn't have any friends on Xbox One, PS4 would be my go-to current gen console to play games.
Both consoles are great (and naturally have their downsides) in their own ways.

We made the decision to go PS4 based on features/specs that were out at the time. Had Microsoft tipped off the Win10 integration and back comp features they ultimately rolled out, that may have been different. But.. oh well, I'm not unhappy. I can't justify two consoles, enjoying what i have.
