Boku no Pico (ぼくのぴこ Boku no Piko, lit. Pico's Deconstruction) is a is a critically acclaimed and award-winning OVA series produced in 2006 by Madhouse (Hellsing Ultimate, Death Note, Paranoia Agent, The Animatrix), written by Hiromu Arakawa (Fullmetal Alchemist) and directed by Nakamura Kenji (Big O, Serial Experiments Lain, Mononoke). The series consists of three episodes, as well as a one-shot manga chapter, an upcoming computer game and a video compilation of the highly acclaimed music by Yoko Kanno, The Pillows and a bonus video with the ED by Kalafina. Because of the high cost of producing anime, the characters and contents were intensively product-tested before production began. The series explores several philosophical concepts including existentialism, loneliness, and the struggle humans experience while growing up in an ever changing world.
The series also references battles from wars like the Anglo-Spanish wars and the Franco-Prussian wars.
Despite it having certain adult content hidden, it's actually an enjoyable watch for everyone, kids included, and it can be described as a light hearted series despite it having so much military content. The ending is considered bittersweet and mind-blowing by the critics and most of the fanbase .

4 RepliesMy friends once asked each other how far the went in the series at the lunch table. When the table turned to me, my words went something along the line of: "Fapped to all three episodes. Twice." My official nickname is Hentai.

4 RepliesNot sure what you're going on about there... But My Pico (boku no pico) isn't actually as bad as people have made it out to be... My girlfriend and I watched all three and the worst thing was some of the sound effects, we only managed to find the censored versions but even so when some of the sexual content was happening, it didn't actually look like anyone was actually touching anything... That and it tried to pull the reveal that each new character in the other two episode was a boy as a big surprise but once you get through the first episode it's not exactly a surprise or anything so it's completely pointless... Overall it was more funny than disturbing... I understand that it looks like kids but 1. It's just drawings and 2. There's plenty of other animes out there where characters are either younger or older than they look so it's entirely plausible that each one is older than they look... And actually in Japan the minimum age of consent is actually 13 but, if one person is only 13 then the maximum legal age for the other person can only be 17. And likewise for each year older the person gets, it has to be a maximum of a 4 year difference for it to still be legal until both are over the age of 18.
wow this is actually pretty long, I commend the person who actually reads all that...
1 ReplyI believe it's an amazing series, it has a great story with plenty of surprises, a superb cast, and the best action in an anime that I've seen.
