Yeah, we're both open. We actually run 3 consoles, our son plays also. I played with the network until everyone was open.
But, yeah, sitting side by side seeing both screens simultaneously, I've seen our connections show opposite each other. Also, some red for me are yellow for her and vice versa.
Most times we are green and most people in the match are green. When there are reds and yellows, it seems to be based on our connection to them because they're different for my wife and I.

Edited by Markano: 2/19/2016 5:42:33 PMYea, I've seen the slight variations from my monitor to his monitor on other players. Like, if I see a player thats red but teetering on yellow then it might show yellow for him. But, eventually it will show red for him and maybe it will be yellow for me or maintain that crimson glow we've all come to loathe so much. What I've never experienced is our connections being different. Like, if I'm green... he's green. But hey, if everything's good on your end then it's just further proof that emphasis on matchmaking needs to favor connection more than it currently does. I mean, if it's causing red, yellow, green bars in the same house. What is this madness??? Ha...
