Bungie should change that stats from k/d to wins and zones captured.
People post about their k/d is misleading and tainted.
Here is a simple argument... is it more important to win the match or protect your k/d stats?
How many time you see players don't cap zones nor pick up the sparks etc. Those are the same people is protecting their k/d stats.
Let's make it simple would you sacrifice to win for the team??? Would you die so your spark runner can light them up? Would you hold the zone so your team can have an advantage???
Here is the truth the question is can you handle the truth???

8 RepliesOh and can we get this 1 thing right on the forums? There is no such thing as a negative kd. It stops at 0.0 and never goes to -0.1
-
K/D > Wins. I don't judge by K/D, but I often get placed on the...worse team.
-
I'm sure a player who has the skills and knowhow to really take down an enemy team has to count for something
-
Kd just says you don't die as much.
-
It does....... A 1.2 will be better then a 0.6
-
Who cares about wins? If I'm not playing ToO or Iron Banner when it's not Clash I'll just pad my stats every time, every game. Especially when playing solo because you can't rely on random teammates to play the objective.
-
Kd isnt everything but its still the most telling stat for how good someone is, at least on an individual basis
-
There is a population of players that still don't fully understand control. The activity around a zone is the most important, not clashing between them. That's where the points scoring is done.
-
Some people have fun having a good K/D. Some people have fun winning matches. Some people have fun playing with their friends and they don't care about winning or K/D. Win/Loss AND K/D mean NOTHING in a Game, they don't pay you, they don't love you, they are just there as statistics to look at. Just some numbers. Destiny is a game and everyone will play it like they want to to have fun, so stop bitching about people not running the objective or whatever. You don't want to lose no matter what? Get a team of 6 and win all your games, or go into Rumble so you don't have to worry about less skilled teammates.
-
I think having a k/d is just in case someone does really well and their team loses I mean Ive gotten a few "On the bright side" medals for doing best in the game but losing
-
My kd would be higher but I play the objective.
-
That would only apply to ib and other kiddy 6v6 casual modes. Trials, skirmish ecr. Couldn't change

1 ReplyLast night in control. Ramdom in the game said clearly to 2 other players help me cap flags. Other 2 said no I'm work on my k/d. I would die in there. This is exactly the BS I'm talking about. Bungie need to remove the k/d stats!!!

Edited by NuLuxe: 2/20/2016 2:50:45 PMHere's the thing, Bungo always puts me on the losing team, so before even going in to the match I know in going to losing and it's like I ignore the objective I always go for the caps l, but what's point
OP's combat rating isn't even at a 100
Also from OP:
Here is why you can't trust k/d. Players do things for a reason. Such as TOM farming for CD ghost. Or farming for passage coins. I can easily have 2 to 3 k/d, but I'm not selfish. I think of others before my self. I would rather have 0.1 k/d instead of 2 to 3 k/d any day. Can you understand that? Players like me help other players, compares to some players just me me me.
I'm top 3% in zones captured. But my kd is shit
-
What is more beneficial to a team? Someone who goes 5 - 3 or someone who goes 10 - 15? Sure, the second person gets more kills but also they also give the enemy team more points.
-
I'm guessing that you stink and PVP and can never do trials so you complain and make this lie.
-
You should be getting kills while capturing and defending. It's quite easy to keep a respectable k/d and play objective. I rarely grab the spark in rift because I feel more useful to my team clearing a path. That's my role in rift when it was iron banner. Only picked up the rift when our main runner was not by the spark.
-
Kills = Wins in control, not Flags. Only 1 spark runner needed.
-
1 ReplyYou have a 39% win percentage for PVP; also a .87 K/D.. Either way, you're pretty bad at PVP.

Edited by Packis: 2/20/2016 2:41:22 PM
Here is the truth the question is can you handle the truth???
I can Nearly every one who says k/d doesn't relate to skill or doesn't matter is 0.8 or below. Everyone who says it does is usually 1.7 or 1.5 Trust me, I check. I also noticed that those who complained about 1k yard stare had 0.8 k/d ratios. Also those who complained about shotguns, fusion rifles, thorn, and tlw.

1 ReplyWhat a surprise. OP has a 0.9 k/d. This is what all garbage players say.
-
You do know in control you can win a game purely by wins only if your team is good enough.
-
Go find someone with a bad k/d but a good win percentage, and then go flawless... Then your argument might be valid
