• Not sure what you're getting at... I'm not red barring either. Players that I'm being matched with (and against) are. Which brings up another point. I'm not noticing the benefits of the damage referee. Poor connection players still seem to have a "tactical advantage".

You may be red bar to your opponents. My wife and I play on separate consoles in the same room. Most times we have green bars. On the occasion that she has a yellow bar for me(and mine's green), I have a yellow bar for her(and hers is green). Not disagreeing that matchmaking is still jacked up.

  • My son and I will play together as well in the same room on separate consoles but I've never experienced that. Interesting... The bars should be indicating the quality of your connection to the host at that particular time. To see discrepancies in connection quality from separate consoles in the same household would be indicative of an unstable connection. Hmmm... NAT type open on both consoles? No packet loss? I'm not saying your internet is bad at all, just curious as I've never experienced that. Regardless, I can not attest to what players on the other side of the globe are seeing in regards to my connection quality. I can only go by what I experience with my own eyes. Although, if I'm green then they should see me as green as well because that is my connection to the host. That representation should not change in relation to their connection quality. Now, that's not saying that their connection doesn't effect my connection... I'm saying that if Qu1ckSc0pezzz420 (in Florida) is yellow then n00bkil1a187 (in Australia) will see him as yellow, for example. Qu1ckSc0pezzz420 could be yellow because he is connecting to Australia. The quality of all of our connections can effect (and be effected by) others but the representation of it (the bars) should be consistent to what everyone sees. I have, however, experienced where I've played with others and someone has complained about a "red bar" player and they were "green" for someone else BUT it would change and the person they were "green" for would say something like, "ohhh yup, I see 'em as red now". So yea, regardless... we can agree that the matchmaking is pretty flawed.

  • Yeah, we're both open. We actually run 3 consoles, our son plays also. I played with the network until everyone was open. But, yeah, sitting side by side seeing both screens simultaneously, I've seen our connections show opposite each other. Also, some red for me are yellow for her and vice versa. Most times we are green and most people in the match are green. When there are reds and yellows, it seems to be based on our connection to them because they're different for my wife and I.

Yea, I've seen the slight variations from my monitor to his monitor on other players. Like, if I see a player thats red but teetering on yellow then it might show yellow for him. But, eventually it will show red for him and maybe it will be yellow for me or maintain that crimson glow we've all come to loathe so much. What I've never experienced is our connections being different. Like, if I'm green... he's green. But hey, if everything's good on your end then it's just further proof that emphasis on matchmaking needs to favor connection more than it currently does. I mean, if it's causing red, yellow, green bars in the same house. What is this madness??? Ha...
