Datto and holtzmanns solution to DoT
They said that Damage over time (DoT) should only keep your shield down and not touch your health. That goes for thorn and firebolts only though.
Edit:Btw these changes wouldn't affect pve in any way.
Edit 2: I never said my opinion so don't hate me. This is an idea two very respected players had and Im only asking your thoughts on this. Second thing is that when I say shields I mean the big bar that's before your health, not over shields (force barrier or flame shield).
Edit: someone fcked up the 50/50. Who did that?

I think DoT should be heavily diminished while crouching. This means you either stay back and be more vulnerable to a sudden push but you retain your health, or you lose health faster but put more distance between you and your opponent.

3 RepliesDoT is only really a problem in pvp, i'd even see that they need to buff it for pve, but something needs to be done about it in pvp, people just don't want it to happen because they can't be good at the game otherwise.

1. I do not think it is a good solution DOT on both thorn and firebolts are fine the way they are. 2. If you find them a problem you need to alter your playstyle. 3. The only way It could be viable and remain an effective change to DOT is if it kept shields from recovering at all for 15 seconds (for firebolts) or 3 seconds for thorn OR have each tick remove a (small)portion of targets super it still needs to be an effective offensive perk.

1 ReplyMight as well just remove it entirely then. It would be pointless. Thorn would do almost nothing after the first shot, and firebolt can completely drain the shield without DoT, which means it would only exist against guardians with an over shield, and it would not do enough to even bring those shields down. What a thoroughly dumb idea. I thought Datto was smart.

Why half the damage of DoT if you're stationary? That way they have to push to kill you, instead of running away.
