I'm not worried about The Division's impact on the Destiny population anymore.
First, I'm Destiny's biggest critic and could rant for days on what I'd like to change in this game. That said, I don't feel like The Division is the game that will "kill" Destiny.
Why do we play this game? For me it's the gameplay and colorful surroundings. The Division has the most stale gameplay I've come across in recent years and the enviroments are dull and gray at best. If I was in charge of that game I would simply copy and paste the R6V gameplay/FPS mode into it. That alone could have made it somewhat interesting to play but as it stands it's just a wonky TPS.

1 ReplyDestiny is hands down the best "feeling" FPS ever! The division is ok, but still very wonky feeling, getting stuck on things, can't jump and the dark zone loot system is -blam!-ing whack!

I played the beta today and I enjoyed it but I was a little disappointed with the graphics and interaction with the environment. I know its the beta but it also didn't feel as polished as other betas iv played, I hope its not being to rushed. Nothing really stood out and got me excited, I will still buy it and play it. As a side note I was also not thrilled the first time or 2 I played Destiny but look at me now. I have a feeling my time will be split, but with the majority going to destiny as long as it get some new -blam!-ing content.

When it is as dry as it is now, you may not notice yourself much of a difference, but the average playing time of users will drop and I know I plan to mix both games going forward. Average time in game , which is something Bungie/Activision cares about, is going to drop

3 RepliesThe only think that will "kill" Destiny is Bungie... 5 1/2 months and no details on a new DLC release... and horrible little events with little reward have this game on life support. I love the game... It's a shame

I play several games at the same time, it's not that difficult to achieve. Fallout 4 would kill Destiny, Black Ops would kill Destiny... and Destiny still lives. There's no such thing as one game killing another.

No game is going to kill destiny just as no game killed defiance. Its not gonna happen so ignore everyone screaming at the top of their lungs. Not that destiny is winning any over achiever medals from me.

2 RepliesI'm just going to play both. I think The Division is going to be a great game that gives me something to play when Destiny is feeling stale. I've been playing Destiny since day one and here recently I started getting really turned off by it. Playing the beta last night was a nice change of pace and has me looking forward to going back to Destiny in a few days.

Also it's great to take breaks, I find Destiny MUCH more enjoyable after a few weeks away from it. Games are meant to be fun, not work. Play what you like, but please take in to consideration. The only way a game truly dies, is by its own devs. As for me, I think the Division is great. A way better loot system, character creation + customization depth. Also I LOVE TPS. Soooo yeah :)

Bungie has killed Destiny for me. I'll play new content when it comes out maybe up to 5 times but this weird Mid-November to now time period that Bungie has has created led me to play other games. And it's been more fun than I have had in Destiny in a long time. So sure I'll be back but for me, no game is to blame only Bungie.

Saying that one game will kill another is rather silly. That almost never actually happens. Destiny is a good game in its own rights, as is the Division. They are also both very different games. Both with pro's and con's Nevertheless. Destiny has gone through a very rough period and while there may be some glimmer at the end of the horizon it is also true that the last few months there have been questionable decisions made, many errors made and communication has completely broken down. Those things will impact the Destiny community far deeper and far more lasting than a competing game would have otherwise been able to do. Because of the current situation I think a lot of people already left or are already on an extended break..ad when the division is released many more will focus on that for a while. The Division will definitely impact the current community. This is not necessarily bad. People will come back when there is new content and when Bungie manages to get both their communication and game mechanics fixed.

It's pretty fun and a good change of pace. I've been playing Destiny for a whole year now, every day, and I'm kind of tired. I still love it but I'll take a break until the spring update.

Played the open beta yesterday. My prediction is that it will be the next title added to the long list of games that were to be "destiny killers".

3 RepliesKids are too hyped for the Division. They see YouTubers and Twitch Streamers bragging about it saying it is the most amazing game ever. But us real gamers can tell who got paid to "support" the game... I mean look at Gothalion. Great streamer, but you can tell he is bored as -blam!- with Destiny, but i am sure Twitch and Bungie give him a fair cut for supporting the game and using this public app.... But for real, this game is way to hyped.... The black zone or dark zone is to stupid to be honest.... This match made "raid" (if kids want to call it that) is actually the biggest mistake I can think off.... Now I was enjoying the looks of the game, but this hype sickens me and makes me not want to play it. I played the beta and 20 mins in I was dreadfully bored of it. All I could think was "I could be raiding right now" "I could be farming strikes right now" "Why are people hyping this game again?" That's all I could think.... Dreadful... Think I might get Yoshis WollyWorld for my Wii u, after I buy a Wii U for the same price as the Division, off of Craigslist in my town....

I got turned off from it when the big boss battle was a normal dude running around with a backpack and taking massive amounts of bullets. Just seemed really stupid to me. I like my bullet sponged to at least be huge imaginative creatures. I'll stick to this broken crap.
