PS4 Auto ejecting disk

Anyone else have this issue? The console automatically ejects the disc during gameplay

  • Stop leaving your PS4 on standby so much. That's how it happens. First it's an occasional eject, then it stops reading disks or better yet, it closes your game then ejects it. My friends were having the same issue and that turned out to be the problem. Frankly, you should only leave your PS4 on standby to download big stuff overnight.

  • Hang the front of your ps4 over the shelf of whatever it's on sometimes the sensor for the eject is a bit sensitive it happened to mine a while back did this and had no more trouble

  • I really didn't understand why they did an auto feed disk system again after all the issues they had when ps3 first came out. There's a reason why they stopped making the autofeed/eject version and switched to a manual design so quickly

      • Most likely your drive is damaged but it could be software. If it's happening a lot you can back up your stuff and try to format the system. If that dosent work you might have to replace the druve. We usually charge 120.

Yep. It's can be 2 or 3 things. 1) There is a tiny screw on the case that can un seat itself. It's the one you use to manually eject a disk if your console dies. There are a ton of YouTube tutorials on how to fix this. 2) Your ps4 might have a static charge build up. The white destiny edition ones have an issue with this I guess. As a temporary fix unplug your ps4 from the outlet. for like 5 minutes utes. 3) sometimes the rubber piece at the bottom make the ps4 think your hitting the eject button. Get a stand and set it up vertically.

            • YouTube it, I had this problem and I think it was to power down and unplug it, wait a few minutes then plug back in and go to systems and do some kind of reset .

            • Try getting the stand if you have room to use it...also I use 4 rubber washers about an eighth inch thick to raise my ps up just slightly...the rubber grip on the bottom will bunch just slightly against the button and set it off...also try cleaning around the button with rubbing alcohol.

            • I raised my ps4 off the ground & the problem was solved 99% of the time. It still happens randomly if my ps gets shut off from power outages & usually the next time it gets powered up it would do it until I do a hard reset to correct it.

            • Call Sony. I had the same problem. Faulty ejection switch internally. It was covered under warranty.

              • Mine starts doing this every few months. Tightening the hidden screw does the trick. See the link. It's easier to see the screw with a small flashlight.

Put your own rubber stopper feet on the bottom of the ps4 to lift it slightly above the ones already on it. I use to have this happen all the time but this completely fixed it. As mentioned below its a static electricity problem that causes the eject button to trigger.

                  • Mine does this and the only thing that sort of works is to play with the ps4 upright instead of flat

                  • It's the ps4's auto junk cleaning function, happens all the time while playing Destiny...
