What would be its experiment?
What would your companions say about it?
What would there be to discover?
Lore behind it?
Vault 53
- Test mankind's ability to survive in a severely tight and enclosed environment without a possibility of escape
-Any peaceful companions such as Preston or Piper could say something about the Vault being completely inhumane, while any sarcastic companions such as Cait or Deacon could say something under the lines of them not being afraid of the tight spaces but the Vault taking it way too far.
- In the Vault, your player could find holotapes of Vault Dwellers going crazy and insane from them being claustrophobic, and the scientists saying that they never signed up for this.
- The lore behind the Vault would be that Vault-Tec randomly picked 150 civilians of any nature, and then handpicked 50 civilians with known cases of claustrophobia, and put them in the Vault, with it supposedly being 'unbreakable' and the Vault was never suppose to open from the main entrance, but a secret entrance created for the scientists to come in and out was found by the civilians as they fought hard to make it out. The nickname the Vault was given was 'The Unbreakable' but that was short lived as a behemoth managed to smash the hatch down.
Hey after you're done making you're vault I heard of another settlement that needs you're help.

Genetically enhanced prostitutes. Cuz who wouldn't live that?

I'd probably go with the one I made back in NV Experiment - the occupants of the Vault had their brains extracted and put into Deathclaws by a group of scientists, the people had full control over the body just unable to do some things such as talk or write what companions would say - something about the Deathclaws being smart, maybe suggesting finding a way to communicate thing's to discover - new factions, weapons and armour, maybe Deathclaw styled power armour and Deathclaw power armour... maybe something like the Ivory Hunter Armour from Skyrim because you know why not ;)

Vault 665 "One step away from hell" Slowly heat starts to increase over time till unbearable. Has one cold room at -20 degrees Fahrenheit
-
Vault 420 Experiment: See how long it takes to quikskope a -blam!-. Dogmeat would say "Woof woof" It was made after the MLG was formed
-
vault 309 experiment: to see how well dwellers would fare in an enviroment where you literally have to fight in order to survive, cults formed around fighting, similar to caesars legion. valentine "Still amazes me how sick people can be...." others would be disgusted and strong would approve ((super mutant duh)) ((note that the vault would still have dwellers, and would still be active, you would have to fight your way through them, lots of blood and gore)) could find a set of T-45 power armor with 50% core consumption, and with 50% melee damage the suit called "legionare's armor"

Vault 99. All of the vault dwellers with the exception of the overseer, and a few select people are always in a state of rationing. Ration power, ration food, ration water. The experiment is to see how well people can survive while ensuring extreme rationing indefinitely. The vault failed when the people found out the overseer, and his pals were living it up while everyone else were living on scraps of food. They ended up killing the overseer, and his friends before abandoning the vault completely.

A vault with no KFC 😭😭

Vault 73 Testing a new scarecrow-like serum that makes the victim see their own worst fears. Spiders, falling, whatever it is, they'll have a hallucinogenic trip involving that object. Medical experiments were also done on these people to see if they experienced pain. I'm talking full scale surgery with no anesthesia. The vault, upon entry, would have minor leftover fumes from the toxin. It wouldn't be enough to allow a full trip, but it would show very minor flashes of the sole survivor's worst fear (something about their son or significant other, probably). The companion would react by hinting towards their fear and how they kind of see it. Vault 73 suits: Like every other vault, vault tec suits could be found in here, but there's something different about these suits. A common side effect of the serum makes the subject repeatedly scratch themselves (like a bad acid trip). Many of the suits have violent slashes in them and have enhanced radiation defense as compared to other suits. Yellow-belly syringes: ammo for the syringe rifle that already exists. Causes the target to flee or something. There'd be tons of it. Plenty of Psycho and mentats One of those surgery magazines The "fear mongerer": Legendary syringe rifle that makes the yellow-belly ammo effect last longer or something.

Edited by rosstritch5: 2/16/2016 3:39:19 PMI would tell everybody that the vault would not open for 50 years and say the ventilation system was broken and that there was a deadly disease being spread that could only be inhaled through the mouth so they couldn't talk or breath through their mouths and have some "accidents" that involve them being forced into a full sprint until they pass out and see how many go crazy from not talking or die from lack of oxygen when they run and how many people just don't care I would also make them have to eat each other in a separate vault

1 ReplyVault 6 7 people with different personalities in one vault, nothing but a big empty room with 7 chairs circled around a table with a revolver loaded with 6 rounds in it. Only one person lives, and uhhhhh
I ran out of ideas here. Feel free to fill in the rest.
I'd like to see a Vault filled with Tumblrinas and Neckbeards, then study and observe how long before they kill each other.
-
3 RepliesA vault filled with only Children, from the ages if 10-13. Stocked to the brim with everything a bunch of people would need to survive. I would find that interesting, to see how they would survive.
-
12 RepliesEVERYONE IS IN POWER ARMOR
BEST IDEA
-
3 RepliesIt'll be a vault where we discuss the potential dangers of the commonwealth and how they could be avoided through unity and cooperation - speaking of which, I've got another settlement that needs your help, general.

2 RepliesThe experiment would be making the common wealth a better place by wiping out every faction that didn't share its ideas. Basically get rid of the brotherhood and institute.
