Currently this is an exploit and how people are getting around not being able to start out with special ammo in 3 v 3 game modes. My idea to fix this is not having the Icebreaker and Invective perks work in crucible or at least make it kick in after special ammo is available. Also I'm not sure why Sidearms can start with special ammo in 3 v 3 modes.
However, if this is fixed then everyone will probably just move over to No Land Beyond. There are a few ways to prevent this from happening, but they aren't ideas that people will like.
Edit: People start with sidearms then switch to snipers after death to get 5 shots. That's an exploit and the only reason I care about sidearms starting with ammo. If that exploit was fixed then sidearms can start with ammo all day long for all I care.

1 ReplyThe invective don't need fixed it's it's a year two guns and u don't get ammo until u can pack up green ammo

3 RepliesIf invective and icebreaker only regen ammo after they pick up a crate of special ammo, it wouldn't be broken. And I don't really mind side arms having ammo right away because they can't one shot me. Plus I use a side arm when I use a slow firing, long range scout so I would be useless in close quarters without it... So I wouldn't use that gun unless I got special at start...

2 RepliesIt's simple and should have been in place day one...after you leave orbit to drop into the match, when you can't bring up your menu anymore, your layout is locked.

1 ReplyWhat is funny to me is that (at least some of the 700) Bungie employees knew about this "exploit" and were planning to use it themselves. The dev of Crimson Doubles said so at the very start of his live stream with DeeJ. Paraphrasing, he said "I will derp around for a bit but if games get tough I will switch to my Icebreaker so I will have sniper ammo." I don't know why anybody is acting surprised that there weapons are showing up a lot. Everybody knows what they do and it was part of the plan. Note, I am not saying it was a smart part of the plan!

1 ReplyIcebreaker's exotic perk "No Backpack" makes it where the player cannot pick up special ammo. Without it the gun is useless. Besides, the Icebreaker takes eight seconds to regen a single shot. That's 48 seconds to its full six round magazine. Invective gives 4 shots every thirty seconds or so. Not only is that on the rate of initial crate spawn, it hives less than a crate. Not to mention the average player uses 2-4 shots for the kill with Invective due to range, impact, and RoF. Sidearms are a whole different story. Yes they spawn with ammo. That's the only thing special about the class that makes it stand apart. That's the way Bungie designed them. But, if the player runs out of ammo, they respawn with on average 1&2/3 magazines. If they have more than that, it functions like a normal special weapon. So what's the big deal? So your thousand yard stare and matador 64 don't start with ammo, but a little pistol does. The Icebreaker doesn't start with ammo, nor does the Invective. They just generate ammo before the player enters battle.

1 ReplySo you want them to remove a perk on an exotic which makes it exotic, literally invective and icebreaker would be legendaries lol
-
2 RepliesHoly shit. It's a game mechanic. They aren't going to take the main exotic perks away because it interferes with a new change.

Make icebreaker, sidearms, and invective not be able to grant ammo on a switch . Boom problem solved

Just no

Leave it as it is, it isn't really a game breaking issue, it's an exotic perk, if people want to regen ammo then they are sacrificing an exotic slot or another weapon in its class that maybe better suited to the job in hand..

2 RepliesLosers like u fck up the game to point that is so far DEAD fcking loser

3 RepliesInvective and icebreaker take 30seconds to spawn ammo. It's their exotic perks. That's why they are exotic. Sidearms start with ammo, that has always been strange to me but meh..
