Check Out These PC Specs
I've been looking into getting myself a gaming laptop but I don't know how well this one will be able to run certain games. What do you guys/girls think?

2 RepliesDon't listen to other people who say laptops suck. Unless you want to do some HARDCORE gaming then a laptop is fine. Your specs are perfect for casual online gameplay. I have a laptop with about the same specs (your specs are a bit better than mine) and I can run everything just fine.

You can build a PC with the same specs and later upgrade it. Its better because if you get a laptop and you're not happy with the performance, you're stuck with it until you buy a new one.

Do you need a laptop for any reason? The laptop specs are good but I would suggest a desktop. If something stops functioning properly it's easily replaceable. When I first got into PC gaming I bought an Alienware laptop. Cost me $2000 but it worked flawlessly. But I wanted more so I built my own desktop and haven't looked back. I gave my laptop to my parents for there enjoyment. The laptop is a good idea if you really need the portability aspect. But it's up to you. Have you looked at some other gaming laptops? ASUS makes some pretty sexy gaming laptops.

Desktop for serious gaming, laptops for portability. I seriously advise against getting a gaming laptop, although the specs on that are decent.

You could get a serious PC for that. With laptops, you're just paying for the portability. While I don't regret buying mine, it was the same price as my pc and runs games much worse.

You'll get about 1080p/30 at ultra on most games. The problem with laptops is that the price to performance ratio is terrible. For less than what you'll spend on that you can absolutely crush the performance with a desktop. [url]http://pcpartpicker.com/p/RnZjf7[/url] To put that into perspective, this build will easily yield 1080p/60 at ultra, and even 1440p/60 at a mix of ultra and high. I even included a Mouse, Keyboard, Monitor, and OS. If you wanted to save even more you could just connect it to a tv for the time being. If you have a spare mouse and keyboard laying around those will work just fine as well. And if you already have a laptop or desktop sitting around you don't need to buy a key for the OS, you can just transfer the key from that over.
