I'm also bumping this thread with my gradual meltdown trying to get the cloak of Taniks. Since we're on the topic of horrible drop rates for ghost shells warranting bungie to just give us 320 ghost shells in exchange for not just rubber banding our controllers with touch of malice I think we should talk about legendary drop rates because in my view the ghost shells have pretty much the exact same drop rate as say Eyasluna. Not talking about legendary engrams. I have legendary engrams coming out of my ears. If I kill a dreg there's a 95% chance I'll get another legendary boot or class item engram. I will ask though why legendary engram drops are so heavily weighted toward boot and class item and hardly ever for weapons or helmets? Because it's getting obnoxious. I'm talking about things like strike specific gear: Cloak of Taniks, Grasp of Malok, etc. and crucible playlist gear: Red Spectre, Eyasluna, party crasher, etc. The things you've either gotten by a sheer stroke of luck or have grinded 500+ strikes for. Currently here's my wishlist that I've had for a while now: -Eyasluna -Cloak of Taniks -Any psion flayer cloak -Maybe a red spectre with a not garbage perk selection. We're like what, five months into TTK? This shouldn't be unreasonable. I'm grinding for the Cloak of Taniks right now and after god knows how many strikes over this weekend I've gotten a single Does Not Bow with the worst perks possible and a legendary chest engram. That's it. I can't even reroll that Does Not Bow into something halfway decent. I don't know how many games of crucible I've played but since TTK I've gotten I think a couple of badly rolled spare changes, a red spectre with Replenish and I think exhumed or something along those lines, and an NL shadow. That's it. Really loving those drop rates. And to add insult to injury I do actually see Eyaslunas drop... for the person who did slightly worse than me. Every time. I've had five Gjallarhorns drop for me in year one and Eyasluna is officially rarer than any exotic weapon ever was. So when players go into crimson doubles and see that the ghost shells have the same drop rate of nil to maybe once in a hundred games of course they'll rubber band suicide. I hope people start doing it in regular elimination to get crucible playlist drops. Giving us a guarenteed 320 ghost as an apology for the horrid drop rates is great. But you need to actually look at how horrible the drop rates are everywhere else.
