Some Random Stuff About Labels For People Here

Under the names of mods, it shouldn't just say member. It should say Modererator. It would give them added authority. Under other member's names, it should say stuff. There are quite a few people I wouold deem worthy of being more than members. They could be Long Tyme Members, or Wise Members, or something like that. You want something fun to do Frankie, SketchFactor and Archronos? You could give some people personally unique descriptions. You know, like tease names that are fun. Might be interesting. Any other ideas?

 •
Posted by: Anton P Nym Quoting from The Prince; "It is better to be feared than loved." Fits, don't it? -- Steve knows that it's badly out of context. The actual quote states that it's best to be both, but if you have to opt for only one go for fear. Niccolo made a good argument for it too.. *shudder* [edited to fix spelling of NM's name. *sigh*]
Actually, if he had to choose, and from what I read, he'd rather be feared. Although, with him faking his death, you could argue both ways; damn it's been a long time since I've even gone near that stuff...sigh And The Prince does sound nice

 • I'm going to have to read that book... I've only read a rather big excerpt (as far as excerpts usually go) from it (3 textbook-size pages)... and that was years ago. Pessimistic and morbid it may be, But it still interests me.

 • Because his username is somewhat tied in with it, this should be MakaVeli4Life1's : The Prince I think that's rather fitting for a Mod by the name of Makaveli (even though his name wasn't directly derived from Machiaveli).

 •
Posted by: Banshee Barron I tend to think that the Flood is in better shape than New Mambasa. At least at the Flood people can stay on topic in non-topic posts. Over at New Mambasa it's like the attack of the repeated topics.
It looks like we've actually exhausted all possible Halo 2 topics. The only things worth reading there anymore are the theories (sometimes for laughs, and occaisionally because they're well thought out and convincing). [Edited on 7/14/2004 5:41:02 PM]

 • Yeah, the Septagon is the most unspammed forum. People don't post here as often as in New Mombasa or the Flood, but when they do, it's nearly always a good quality post.

Oh God, not the face Rip Saw!
Actually...as retarded as I am, and a few others, all the people that post here in the Septagon post semi intelligent replies. And most stay on topic while being retarded anyways. I think all of us in this thread, maybe all the regulars to the Septagon, qualify. We hardly stray outside. At least I don't. Except to other chapters and the Classifieds. MMMmmm...tennis shoes and bbq sauce.

 • They should only give titles to people who consistently write intelligent and informative posts. That way it gives incentive to people not to spam. Sure, there's inequality there. But that inequality could motivate people to behave better in forums.

 • Yeah. Like me. I go around and post my ass off. What do I get...nothing! Kidding. But I do die deep down inside when others get recognition and I'm cast aside like a used tennis shoe. Tennis shoe? Where'd that come from? That's when I go and secretly start flames until I feel better about myself. I'm not normal.

 • Eh, it would be cool to have them, and I kind of like the idea of calling Baron, Master BS and Sketch "nuclear disaster" (for those of you who read that little story of mine you'd know). Though I'm sure it'd have to be implemented kind of tactfully so people did not feel like Bungie was playing favorites because a lot of people contribute to this community and just don't get the same recognition.

 • Even though I'd like it to be that way, I'm not sure if it'd be right to give only select people special titles... "Lesser" people would get jealous and demand equality... But I say to them, equality doesn't exist (unfortunate, I know... but that's the way it is)... *Snicker* .... Crap, I'm starting to sound like you, Barron...

 •
Posted by: Banshee Barron I'm assuming the "Master BS" means "Master Banshee". *ahem* Anyhow you have a point there, only a select few (maybe 15 out of the Million or so users) should have the special titles. Otherwise they'd become less of an honor to have.
Oo You know that would SO be me...yes it would. :? It may look like I'm a n00b to these fourms but, truly I am not. I like to call it my "shady" past... [Edited on 7/14/2004 1:08:53 AM]
