Here is 1 reason why some people don't like it. However, I still stand by my initial "Dafuq it's free stuff. What's not to love?" Opinion
Thanks TheBeer85 for this;
1. Create event where winners are awarded loot.
2. Eff up your drop rate (like this hasn't happened 10x before) so nobody is rewarded their loot.
3. Say eff it and just give free loot to everyone, thus negating the entire point of trying to win.

Suicide pacts just made it easier and faster to get the loot everyone wanted. Be RNG forgiving enough, and the entitled baby squads allowed it.
