A straight up fight with Cabal High Command with no gimmicks?
Some annoying battle with souped up flayers?
A jumping puzzle because of course?

1 ReplyEdited by Spadille: 2/15/2016 3:16:31 PMSo. I had an interesting idea for the raid boss or one of the mini-bosses for the cabal raid, if it ever comes out. This is more of an idea as to what the boss will do. First off, he will spawn each player in a cubicle. There's a weight of darkness 10x kind of thing on them, so they can't jump. 3 of the 6 players floors will blow up and the player will fall down with their comrades. You will then proceed to fight of centurions and major phalanxes. Once done, you will fight the "Air Support Commander", a major cabal legionary. Once he's killed, he will drop a key. You have one minute to get the key and place it in the "Laser designator vault" and take a laser designator. Once then, you must step into a cabal teleporter and go up to the surface. Then, you have a minute for someone to check the cabal command computer, check where the next air strike is coming in from, stand to that side, point the laser at the boss and have the airstrike hit him, and not the fireteam. Failure to do this will result in the cabal carpet bombing the whole area and killing any and all guardians. Once this has been done 5 times, the boss will become "nearly enraged" and will summon a squad of minions to protect the vault, so there's no more walking in and taking the key. After the 6th time, the boss will enrage and summon a strike to hit in 20 seconds to kill the whole fireteam, but the one guardian (Self ressurection warlocks are killed by the burning ember and radiation immediately) who is potentially the designated runner and will run to the cabal teleporter. That guardian will be teleported to a cabal squad ship and will take control of it. A single cabal strike ship is left and will need to be hit directly with a weapon from the cabal squad ship to blow a hole in the side. The guardian must then eject from the ship, get into the cabal ship and kill all the cabal on it. Then, they must hijack the ship, fly over near the boss and unleash the last strike upon him, dealing the final blow and killing him. If he fails, then, well, you restart it. If you wait to long inside the ship, the boss will start to shoot at you. Enough hits will finish of the ship. Anyone think this is a good concept or idea? I know some people want a cabal raid and so do I, but I didn't want the failures to be "your super drains and then you just die" kind of things. I wanted it to be unique, as the cabal don't have magic, and fitting, cause they blow stuff up, an airstrike seemed fitting. Plus, you can shoot an airstrike at a giant colossus. Really, just give me your opinion. Thanks for reading.

Phalanx's everywhere. The raid boss would have a giant shield that can smack your whole fireteam off the map.

Hmmm... maybe a Cabal base where they have been training to fight Guardians. Most of the raid is based around fighting your way through the training grounds, dealing with Cabal troops, traps desinged to mimic various Guardian supers, and new enemies(mid-bosses) with new tactics and attacks learned specifically to take on Guardians. The raid boss would be in the base command center of course, and preferably be an entirely new Cabal type, or possibly multiple bosses similar to the Shield Bros fight

Like the others but with cabal
-
I don't know but i really want one. I think the cabal and fallen haven't been used enough

You can sort of view the area already on Mars - you know where you fight the tank - jump on the ships back when they are dropping off troops, pull out your sparrow at its highest point boost off, you may also need a Titan with that superman helm to get over the huge wall, but it's their already. Like the nine underneath the forgotten shore. Watch a few YouTube videos on it, they will show you where. Have fun and good luck Kind regards Richard Clan Cornwall UK

All of the above

8 RepliesEdited by Maverick: 2/15/2016 6:31:13 AMIt would go like this. The scene opens with the naked ghost of Mara Sov appealing to the guardian, stating she has sensed a massive cabal ship light years beyond the reef. After a semi-erotic cutscene, this info is confirmed by the vanguard. After discussing with the guardians, it is determined that a fireteam will clandestinely infiltrate the ship and attempt to assassinate what they hope is the cabal emperor. Meanwhile, a fireteam previously sent to hunt down Toland the Shattered has met success. Reuniting with Eris, it is revealed that he is now a she-wizard and the two are romantically involved. A semi-erotic cutscene ensues, with Eris attempting to silence her screams with black wax. Toland believes with enough tithing from his legions he can open a throne world that will exit onto the cabal ship. Legions of hive are sent against the cabal. Nervously, the vanguard agrees to this plan, but the Consensus does not. Ikora must scrump several representatives to persuade them to agree. It is decided that the Throne world would be opened between Mercury and the sun, so that once it's purpose had been served, it could be sent into the sun. However, to enter it, a velocity is required that is too slow for a ship to achieve but too fast for any other known means of travel. Guardians meet with Ikora and Zavala to formulate a plan. Guardians will skydive into Mercury's tunnels, using sparrows and vex portals to slingshot around the planet and explode into space, penetrating the throne world. On arrival, the team learns they've been betrayed by Eris, as her true queen, Nokris reveals. As she guards the exit portal, a battle ensues. More details will follow as I come up with them. Finally arriving on the cabal ship, the guardians realize they are underwater. It is quickly discovered this is the main septic chamber for the ship. While hunting for an exit, a horrific monstrosity is discovered. It is half-hive, half-cabal turd. Apparently, and ogre was attracted the scent and went thru the portal, where it successfully and confusingly mated with excrement through what is guessed to be a hive process called "boning". This boss battle mixes Phogoth's tankiness with Gulrot's uncleanliness and cabal explosions (of a sort). As you are underwater, all weapons are ineffective except for swords. After its defeat, the team finds an exit. What they are not prepared for, however, is that the atmospheric pressure aboard the ship is extremely high, mimicking the cabal home world. They find themselves in a small janitorial closet, gasping for air. As their armor adjusts to compensate, a guardian drops to their knees, knocking a door open. Three cabal wallowing extremely nakedly in oil baths take instant notice, and what was clandestine is now full-on warfare. The naked cabal are dispatched quickly, and the guardian team notices that they are harder to detect by the cabal, as they are covered in their excrement. Throwing stars are utilized by all guardians to quickly neutralize small patrols looking for the source of the alarm. Pressing forward, the guardians encounter a meeting of cabal lieutenants. They are wailing in ecstasy as they launch loads of what appears to be a biological substance at a massive entity across the large room. The creature has 7 boobs, 3 legs, 3 butt cheeks, 5 arms, and several other smaller and more questionable orifices. A warlock notes the uncanny similarity of what appears to be a cabal mating event to cabal weaponry (Guess the gunsmith wouldn't be so impressed now). In this fight, as you caught the creature unaware, it has no armor. 5 guardians must wrestle the arms while a sixth attempts to nullify adds and use blink to plant grenades/mines inside the beast (spoiler: Titans get blink in this DLC, and so do all subclasses). After 4 rounds the creature explodes, and cabal body parts fly everywhere. To be continued....

Part 1 Two teams of 3 Guardians Team 1 must use tanks and heavy pikes to attack a Cabal Land Tank Slowing it down so Team 2 can board and take out the engine Part 2 Teams are still split and have to work their way to the control room fighting past Cabal of all types but with smarter AI tactics (shields being used to protect flayers and such) At one point both teams will have a boss battle...twist being that both bosses have linked HP...both have different shields(arc and solar) and if either boss regains his shield, then HP regens...slowly Part 3 After reaching the control room, you will have to disable the super gun that is gonna destroy the whole universe (cause Cabal) To do this will involve a jumping area(cause Bungie)...leaving from the land tank rear docking and making your way you onto the very top...automated turret's and stuff plus the cabal army to stop you Not sure what Id like for the final boss fight... Maybe when I take my next dump I will know... lol

Edited by metallicaNLC: 2/15/2016 12:54:34 PMI would kinda like a section where the team is literally split up into groups of 2 or 3 in different cut-off sections and can't meet up anywhere until the end of the encounter. Each team has to fight various things. Maybe it's like a maze. Maybe the maze has multiple height levels to it. Maybe there are tanks involved. Maybe if a whole team of 2 or 3 dies, the whole thing is a wipe. Thinking about it, you'd probably find something like this in a vex raid and not a cabal one. I kinda like this idea more for a vex raid as well. A labyrinth. Kinda going along with the mythological thing "minotaurs" "hydras" "goblins" "hobgoblins" and all that. Maybe they could add new vex types like "siren", maybe a boss called "medusa", "centaurs", maybe a Romeo and Juliet boss fight "Scylla and Charybdis"
-
Basically the cabal can now transform. After taking 30% of their health they literally turn into sponges. Because that's all the cabal are. Bullet sponges.
-
1 ReplyPersonally, I would like a driving section. Either a mad dash to, or from something with some precision jumps boosts required.

1 ReplyEdited by Brokenspade: 2/15/2016 4:09:01 AMEverything is phalanxs. Tanks, psions, doors. Everything. Just one giant unending apocalypse now; of shield bashing, turtle screaming, guardians pinball hell.

A lot of fucking Phalanx!
-
How about a level 42 imperial colossus with psions and Phalanxes in one room...raid done
-
I don't care what it looks like as long as it's not a f#cking hive raid

Edited by MEWTWO: 2/15/2016 5:47:27 AMI see the raid being a half stealth & infiltration/ half coordinated combat! The first part half of the raid has the fire team sneaking on a board a cabal capital ship that received the S.O.S. Sent from earth. The idea is to set a "bomb" on the core of the ship. Section 1
You've got to sneak into the ship and then pass a bunch of patrols (sort of like in VoG) once you pass them you use ventilation ducts to escape into the inner workings of the ship (cue jump puzzle) once the jump puzzle is done you end up in a sort of "loot" room, a room that the cabal store conquered species valuables in, here there will be an armor chest, but as soon as the chest is opened a cinematic starts... Out comes a yet undiscovered part of the cabal species, a cleric of sorts. Like a cabal, but with psionic abilities like a flayer. He is accompanied by 2 large and powerful flayers, 1 solar and 1 arc while he is void. He floats around and has some speech about how he's known your presence since before you boarded the ship and is planning on stopping you here... The encounter begins and the guardians have to weaken both flayers (who don't die... Yet) in order to damage the psionic cabal by overcharging electrical conduits that are hanging from the ceiling (not sure how to explain this but I can see it in my head haha) once he is at 33 percent or so he retreats, which allows you to kill the flayers, but you have kill them within 20 seconds of each other. The the cabal returns with a bunch of legionnaires, after you dispatch them he flees and you loot 2 chests, a weapon chest and an armor chest! -blam!- YA!
Section 2
The next part of the raid is a series of hallways filled with newly alerted cabal who are in full force. The fire team fights it's way to a control station. And your ghost uses it to shut off the cabal from their version of oxygen ventilation system basically poisoning all the cabal in the sectors you're in this puts everything in lock down, Here you have something like 10 minutes to find a code to override the security doors so that you can make an escape before the system era put back online, only, the location of the code changes every raid, like 200 different location options to keep it fun and challenging! Also the ever disappointing "exotic" chest is in here and you have to find that as well! Once you unlock the doors it's smooth sailing to the next sector, closer to the core.
section 3
The next sector has escalated now to where the entire ship knows of your presence so things are a lot more resistance in the halls, another stealth portion, you have to hit the vents again. Your ghost takes you to an area that is used as sort of a zoo/prison for captured PoW's or opposing alien species, here he leads the fire team to 3 separate conduits 2 guardians on each to unlock the prisons and buy the team some time, once the prisons are unlocked most of the forces in the area are occupied giving the fire team the ability to move on with less resistance.
Section 4
The fire team arrives at the facility surrounding the core here you must fight a commanding general (idk who but he's a big wig) he has a huge spire on his back that projects electricity all around him, half of the guardians have to leap to and from all sorts of platforms to try and get an angle on him to shoot him in his weak points, stunning him and allowing the whole team to damage him, but some of the platforms are being electrified and the guardians have to account for this. The other half of the team is down below killing adds until it's time to light the boss up. Once he is dead you get to open a weapon or armored chest (up to RNGesus)
Section 5 last boss
Cue cutscene - The boss from the first encounter returns, and he has a tangent that explains a TON of lore for the cabal, e goes off on how the fire team had a good run but they will not stop the armada blah blah blah, fat chance.... 2 guardians have to weaken the boss' shield using 2 ion turrets in the corner of the room, Once they are weakened the Rest of the team has to damage him, damaging him stuns him for 30 seconds, This gives the team just enough time to unlock one latch on the cores seal (there are 4) once they are all unlocked he enrages and summons a shit ton of flayers, you wipe em all out while dodging his aerial bombardments. Once they're cleared out the final phase begins.... This fight has not 1 carrier but 2 haha! The 2 carriers are charged with using their ghosts to attach the bomb to the core in the middle of the room, they have to stand on 2 separate platforms charging them until the shield is down (if you step off they begin charging down) the other 4 have to make sure that 4 flayers who are actively keeping the shield up are dead but all within a minute of each other once they are dead the 2 guardians have to both place a bomb on the section of the core, 2 times each for a total of 4 bombs. Once the bombs are on you can finish off the boss. Arm the bomb. And gtfo.
Rockets McDickface with a Phalanx shield.

Im thinking like after a few rooms full of enemies with a certain enemy like some sion flayers you have to kill as kinda a mini boss this door smashes open and a cabal wielding a sword who is around the size of a colossus charges in and rushes you barley anycover and its a one on three fight just him
-
1 ReplyOn a new planet (probably Europa) the Cabal are enraged (like the Bon Brothers and for the same reason) so the gardians have to wipe out the cabal before a new leader is picked and the cabal are trying to stop us, but at the end were too late and kill the replacement.

You walk in their ship, and you are swarmed for 45 mins by 200 valus taurc(spelt that wrong im sure)
