This is amazing to hear from a company that uses to encourage couch co op. Even pretty much invented it.
Anything in this game that doesn't include optional matchmaking / when they have shown matchmaking is an easy addition is just a flat out elitist slap in the face to anyone who has limited time, friends an confidence.
It's a -blam!-ing SHAME they don't encourage more friendships by matching us up. Pushing us on. Giving options to those who are unfortunate enough to not have the popularity needed to play the game.
They're even aware we feel like this and still don't care enough to give an optional means of matchmaking. Even though it would hurt anyone. Being OPTIONAL.
I just see the cool kids in high school surrounded by friends and thinking "no one has problems making friends. We've all got thousands even millions of them."
Well that's bungie. And the staff.
They don't have a clue what it's like to be the average person.
It's infuriating enough to put us off the game entirely. And we all walk away.
Really disappointing.

Edited by Hoops: 2/15/2016 6:51:47 PMWhile I do think joining a decent clan is the best way to enjoy this game. Many players are not smart enough to realise that simply joining one on here isn't all you need to do to actually connect with clan mates. After playing the Division beta I thought the way you could group with players you encounter in the world instantly and could also chat using proximity chat were simple but effective ways that should already be in Destiny.

6 RepliesEverything should have three choices; Solo. Matchmaking. Fire team. Is it really that hard to implement!?!?!?
-
It's interesting how many posts go up in support of this and it still has yet to be implemented.
-
I have never added somebody that I played with in a matchmade activity, even for raids I add people, complete the raid and delete them from friendslist, the only people I keep is people that I know in person and actually have a friendship with.

2 Replies- To read lore and make sense of storyline you have to visit a site - bungo.net - To do end game activities you have to visit a different site - destinylfg - To check your stats you have to visit yet another different website - destinytracker - Socialising hub called tower is completely useless I hope i am making some sense...
-
1 ReplyThere is no logical reason why Bungie won't give us optional matchmaking. Makes no sense.
-
It makes sense, the destiny lfg doesn't guarantee a match and is it me or are you sick of having to go to a different website to do things I this game.
This is amazing to hear from a company that uses to encourage couch co op. Even pretty much invented it.
I wasn't aware couch co-op found people to sit on your couch with you. I was under the impression that those were, you know, your friends.

If you can tell me the problem with OMM and how you would solve them than I might agree otherwise OMM would of cause more problems than solve
-
What about your clan? Have you added members to your console friends list? Or do you expect to connect with clan members through magic?
-
They find you friends you just hafto befriend them and take them with you!?!
-
Optional matchmaking is already there. Enter elimination/skirmish, and invite them to a party. Use them as your trials team because they will be the exact same quality if you we're to put optional matchmaking In for trials of Osiris.

Bumping

It just means they couldn't be bothered to code it. Then they make an excuse that the fan boys stick with. About It all being elite now. Stfu. It's just lazy.
-
They not only will not find us friends, ttk and updates since are actually losing us our year one friends. Activities are becoming more anti social in nature. Nightfalls/Raids and pvp matchmaking make the game too sweaty and stressful. Rewards are lacking. We just don't want to go through the effort for ourselves, much less to help friends anymore. I used to be willing to help randoms in the tower, but I rarely even consider it now. So, bungie is definitely NOT helping us find friends.
-
"We wont find you friends but we will find you enemies", so I guess Bungie really loves pvp, wish I could beat the shit out of who ever thought of that
-
I actually agree with you, OP. LFG should be built into this game. Zero acceptable excuses.
-
1 ReplyPong invented couch co-op I think :)
-
It wouldn't work
-
2 RepliesThe real questions is, who is running the sites we lfg on? #someoneyouknow.
-
if they don't want to make optional matchmaking then they could at least make an in game lfg tool i.e. a board in the tower with a simple mechanic of you put on the board the task your doing (raid trials nightfall etc.) then people just select you and join your team and then you can keep or boot them and when your team s full your name is wiped off the board, simple
-
That's funny. Most of my friends stopped playing after TTK came out.
-
I will gladly inform Bungie that I have been finding friends... finding friends to play the Division. ;-D
-
1 Replyi mean you can let people try to complete the raid with matchmaking,we dont even have the option right now
