Not enough impact, you can hit 'em right in the head and It won't kill 'em when they've got an overshield.

Lol, just hold it about 6-8 inches above the orb (when reviving the orb will start to glow/pulsate white), after the animation - they're up in the air and fall to the ground into a crouch, then stand up - you can see the gun come up from their side, that's when you shoot. During all the animation do not try to follow their head, just leave the reticle in the original spot. It just takes practice, took me a while to get it down, but once you get your first one it becomes much easier to find the sweet spot.
