Destiny 2 old gen compatibility
I haven't heard a clear answer from Bungie, so maybe they should hear our thoughts on this.
Backward compatible games suffer greatly.
Destiny 2 will have worse FPS, Zone sizes, Story/visual limitations, longer release times and more development headaches if they make it work with legacy systems.
As new gen games harness the abilities of the newer system they will provide better products.
What are your thoughts?
Note: I'm broke and can't afford new console, then just play Destiny 1.

No offense, this is nothing personal. I hope the later expansion drops old gen. Anyone that tries to defend it I'm sorry but there's nothing you can do to change that opinion. Claiming "half the player base blah blah blah" no. Not half. Half the consoles doesn't mean half the players. This is nothing new, they've hinted at it several times. It's time to move up, and if you can't then... sorry?

3 RepliesIf the legacy Gen people can't afford a new system, how about they fooking stop buying new games and content and save for the current Gen. Then sell all of their current Gen and BAM. They taste greatness. They can't complain about not being catered to when all they do is buy new content for their current Gen because they don't wanna stop playing it. Dude. Stop. Dark souls one was fun. So was skyrim. It's time to move the fuçk on.

1 ReplyI legit love my 360 but sadly games can't grow properly if the older gems contunie to hold them back, black ops 3 as shit a game as it is in my opinion did what was needed although still charging full price for a fraction of the game that's on old gem is disgusting to me, 70 for what like a 5th of what's on next gem but the same price

I will not be buying Destiny 2 if it's available on last gen consoles because it shows that Bungie are REALLY just in it for the money and don't really wanna bring Destiny to its full potential..

5 RepliesI'm pretty sure it was mentioned at some point through one of these many "leaks" that they planned to ditch last gen for D2 because the limitations and lack of processing power on last gen. Also, last gen users have like.. 2 years left before 80-90% of companies drop them. And all services will be shut down by 2020.

I highly doubt they will. Originally I heard they had already confirmed it won't be old gen. (I'll look for an article when I have the time) They waited to enlarge the vault due to the old gens not being able to support it (if not both then mainly due to the 360 if I had to guess.) They were able to delete redundant code which allowed for the old gen to support a bigger vault. If this doesn't show that the old gen is holding them back idk what is. Also the ToM on old gen doesn't turn. Something that seems as simple as that is hindered. I've also heard the menu load times are insanely long on the old gen. They are too long for me when they lag .5-1 sec. on the current gen. I highly doubt they will support it. Most AAA dev teams and game publishers have wrote off old gen and many more won't publish for the old gen after this year. I can only assume many if not the rest will follow suite.

4 RepliesThe PS3 and 360 are both about 10 years old. Making a game for ten year old counsels is like developing an App for flip phones. You can still do it, but it will be limited in design, graphics etc. I really hope that Bungie doesn't work to create an old gen version of the game too. It's pointless. Sorry to anyone out there on ps3 or 360 but after 10 years you can't expect to keep getting new games

I forgot who made the vid but some guy made a montage and it looked like it was being played in 60 fps. It had slow motion moments but it looked so smooth and the colors were rich. I wish destiny looked like that. I think it was movie of the week once.
