I want to know what everyone thinks are the top 5 Scout Rifles?

1 Reply1) Vision of Confluence - If there was a year 2 version, I would never put it down. Perfectly Balanced. The true king of Scout Rifles. 2) Cocytus(Last Extremity/Colovance's Duty) - All three of these guns are very similar and reward a skilled shot. I chose Cocytus because it's base stats are preferable over LE and it's potential rolls are better than CD. I put these over Jade Rabbit because they don't snag the Exotic slot. 3) Touch of Malice - A perfectly designed Raid Exotic. Didn't require the balancing act of Mythoclast or Necrochasm nor the RNG to acquire. Very situational, but almost everyone who has it uses it. 4) Tlaloc - Speaking of Design... a very cool concept gun that pushes a very Unique playstyle no other exotic does. The reverse-Juju. An exotic should feel like a weighted decision. Every time I equip the Tlaloc, I hesitate and weigh the benefits against the drawbacks. 5) Hung Jury - This gun wouldn't be here if Arach Jalal didn't sell it 24/7. Fatebringer's less sexy cousin by a long shot(get it?). A kinderguardian's best friend. Makes people believe Triple Tap is a good perk and jizz themselves whenever they see it on any future rolls. Why They DIDn't Make the List NL Shadow - Fun to use. But requires a rare roll to be effective. Jade Rabbit - Solid gun, I love it cuz bunnies. But It takes up the exotic slot and is barely better than it's legendary brothers in the archetype. Fang of Ir Yut - Cool perk, average gun. Mida Multi-tool - A very well rounded gun. A plethora of average perks make this thing a swiss army knife of sorts. The reasons it didn't make my list are these: 1) The exotic perk on this gun doesn't feel exotic. The look of the gun doesn't look exotic. The name of the gun doesn't sound exotic. It is, on paper and in practice, the most boring exotic in the game to me(Except maybe Super Good Advice except SGA has way better flavor text). Some other guns have boring aspects, but nothing embodies boredom to me more than looking at the Multitool. I'm not sure if my impression of it was by design, but there it is. 2) It is only an above average gun normally. The reason it's scarred into everyone's collective memory right now is due to the imbalanced Metagame that currently has left few viable options in the midrange. Once Crucible re-balances itself, it will fade into memory for a while.

There is a problm a roll means so much. MIDA will top all lists. From there isn't it a toss up. I have a not like the others with the same roll that they had on the vendor Iron banner scout and it is a beast. I have the high impact scout from the gunsmith with 3rd eye and a stability perk that is a beast. I have a dis 47 with a stability perk and full auto yup also beastly. Now that is all three types low medium and high impact that all more than get the job done. The key is they all have perk sets that I love. That is all the difference.

Edited by Benzene21: 2/12/2016 8:04:54 PMI don't use MIDA but I know it's really good. The Jade Rabbit Colovance's Duty Tlaloc Hung Jury (vendor version) Haven't used the popular Gunsmith one.

Edited by Wolfy: 2/12/2016 7:57:57 PMNot in any paricular order as they all have their strengths and weaknesses but Jade Rabbit MIDA Cocytus SR4 Hung Jury Tlaloc I personally prefer the Cocytus overall for both not using an exotic space and with stabilty is really easy to triple tap people in the brain

Edited by illestdood: 2/12/2016 7:08:55 PMI'm only going to say year 2, because it's relevant now. In no particular order. Mida, Suros Dis-43 for lower rate of fire, Suros Dis-47 for higher rate of fire (I like both suros scout rifles with full auto and good stability which is the ones I have, which where arms day releases), Colovance Duty and probably Treads Apon Stars with a good roll or at least one real good perks on it. I have one I think with outlaw and crowd control.

Hung Jury for fast, reliable fire rate and is excellent for PvP Cocytus SR4. Fires slow but hits hard. MIDA (naturally) SUROS DIS-43 is a snappy, all-around useful weapon. NL Shadow 701X fires really fast and is good for hit-and-run tactics
