Black ops 3 just went pay to win
MX Garand. Shotgun pistol and more weapons to come only available in the black market thru RNG.
Edit: the fact that it's random makes it bad, look at all the AW players who still didn't get the Obsidian Steed

Its not pay to win. You do not have to pay for the cod points. Just grind for the keys and quit complaining.

I wouldn't really call it pay to win, because there is no guarantee that getting a black market create will net you one of the new weapons (which you can still earn by usual grinding). Precisely because there is RNG it is more like pay to skip. Also, although there are some clear advantages with the new weapons, none of them are drastically better than the options from the vanilla armory. The new weapons are better in certain contexts, but not on the whole. That being said: it was bulls*** in AW and it is still unwelcome s*** here. It would actually be better if it was full out pay to win, at least then everyone would have the same opportunity to just straight out buy the weapons they wanted to use (the way Blacklight does it). It is a poor business practice, and greatly deteriorates the integrity of the game as a competitive online shooter.

4 RepliesYes the random earn is bad. No it's not pay to win. Shieva is just as good as garand with a better clip size. The only thing the garand has is rate of fire and you can easily use rapid fire on the shieva. Shotgun pistol is worse then normal shotguns and the other pistols vastly out play it except in extreme cqc. Crossbow is terrible without attachments and becomes a useable gun only when dual wielded. And at any time I net a kill with it I could have easily done with any other gun but more consistently.

I agree to a point. I think only knifes and skins should be in supply drops. Actual guns should never be in cases. That's why I stopped playing advanced warfare and will stop playing bo3 if they put more guns in supply drops.

That's not really Pay 2 win. It's still frustrating that I have to randomly obtain the weapons. It's also a very dirty move by both Treyarch and Activision, and it can only get worse from here. Infinity Ward is sure to follow the same path. But as of now, you can still get the weapons without paying anything, so it's not the end of the world.
