Who says they're not getting their shins kicked in? It isn't always a perfect run to the Lighthouse. I don't do Trials myself, but I watch streamers carrying people sometimes. Watching a first-timer is pretty neat, because you can see them improving over the course of the card(s). About the victory/defeat - I tend to learn through victory. To each their own.
