Zhalo, Telesto, Hereafter and Jade Rabbit if on PS. Literally every other exotic weapon that came with TTK is part of a quest. Bungie don't do this in the future.

A lot of people aren't reading your post correctly XD

You forgot the armor pieces, but yeah there isn't much RNG ones anyways. And there's still some locked, but I can't rember their names.

1 ReplyEdited by Krobolus: 2/8/2016 7:41:09 AMSimplest solution to this problem would have been Bungie calling "Quest"acquired weapons something other than Exotic . Then you would have 5 or 6 types of weapons instead of Only Legendary or Exoitic. The Class Specific Weapons Quests could have been called Heritage Quests, and the Rewards could have been called Heritage Weapons and had Red Icons . Other Quests Like Black Spindle could have been Ancient or Antique quests that rewarded weapons/gear and had Orange Icons Faction gear/Weapons ? Should be called Faction gear not Legendary . And should have the Faction Colors in the Icons. Raid Gear could have Been called Epic and had Glowing Icons of diffrent colors to signify what raid they came from. ^^^ all of these and More , would make the game seem so much more rich and diverse than just Legendary or Exotic. And make the ways to Aquire them so much more interesting than RNG for everything . It would have made the game seem to have more depth, more variety, and would have seperated the guns into different catagories so people were not upset that they did not get yet another "Exotic". Having only 2 types of gear/weapons and one being "perceived" to be better then others is just lazy game design. If people were complaining they did not have the "Heritage Weapon" people would just tell them to go do the quest to get it,don't have the Raid stuff go do raids to get it,etc etc, and this would not even be a Topic for discussion. It is only because they are all just Lumped together as "Exotics" that makes it an issue. Destiny was and still is very very light on Quests (yes TTK was a baby step in the right direction but it's far and away from the amount of quests, reward systems and variety this game should have) and Reward systems. RNG took the place of quests and good and varied rewards systems throughout year One as the laziest game design ever. Having a Tiered Loot system + a system to earn Tokens that you can use to buy certain gear/weapons/items (on top of the standard legendary marks) as an additional way to acquire things like Faction weapons, having Quests that give out Original gear in their own catagory , same with Raid gear it, just makes for a much more polished game.

Zhalo, Telesto, Hereafter and Jade Rabbit
These are the new exotics that drop, yes. The Year 2 versions of old exotics are also available for drops, but they aren't as exciting. So, it took this long to realize The Taken King didn't have as many exotics as Destiny Year 1?
-
Actually, it's better than relying on RNG. So, yes, Bungie, more exotic quests, please.
-
I never asked to have exotics handed out like candy via quests, and ya grinding exotics out in nightfalls and raid bosses was aggravating at times but just the hope of that exotic finally dropping was enough to make the majority of end game PvE content worth while, and when that exotic finally dropped you shit a brick with excitement ... Now with all the quests and 3 of coins EXOTICS ARE LACKLUSTER and are not worth anyone's time (give or take a few)

Half of the exotics used to be quest only

Kinda like the y1 way to get certain exotics through exotic bountys gave me a reason to do bountys everyday n go into patrol but seeing how there's no reason to go into patrol now unless your doing the sleeper quest it really kills that side of pve I mean don't get me wrong its cool how theres quests n hidden missions in missions ( black spindle) for exotics now but I don't like the fact that they're time gated makes the game feel annual as in moments of wonder n excitement but long periods of waiting n impatience kinda wish they bring back exotic bountys n put them along with the quests we have now that way u can work on the bounty as u wait for exotic quest to come back

Guys I don't mean exotics that transferred from year one to year two. I mean weapons that came out with TTK and yes I do think the quests were a good idea I just think that bungie made way too many of the exotic weapons tied to quests. It took the excitement of getting exotics for me personally. Sure I felt good with myself after I finished a quest and got the exotic but nowhere near as happy when I would get an exotic I didn't have from a nightfall or at the end of a crucible match. Last time I felt actually happy and excited to get an exotic was getting Black Spindle for the first time like 3 months ago. Also yes I'm a casual player, I don't play that much and I've pretty much given up on half the exotic quests because I just don't have enough time and some of them require a lot of grinding *cough* EXOTIC SWORD QUEST! *cough*
-
I like the quest for certain weapons and then rng the others. Changes things up but man were they just cut and pasting Y1 in TTK

1 ReplyI prefer the quests myself. Rng is a mistake.
-
1 ReplyI preferred the quests in year 1, getting them randomly for bounties, made it worth doing the daily bounties.
-
5 RepliesPeople get mad that there aren't enough quests and demand more. Bungie adds more and people get upset. Logic.

Edited by DudeManBroJoo: 2/8/2016 7:01:35 AMSwords, sleeper, touch, Fabian strategy, ace of spades, tlaloc In short, you are wrong Lol should've read haha "as a drop"

3 RepliesFrom memory: Zhalo, Monte Carlo, Suros, Hard Light Last Word, Hawkmoon Bad Juju, Red Death Mida Hereafter, No Land Beyond Plan C, Telesto Invective, 4th Horseman Truth, Dragons Breath, Super Good Advice, Thunderlord Yup. That's 4. (Apologies for any I forgot.)

The community asked for quest exotics, it added more lore to them. I admit exotics you get from daily missions I don't like
-
No Bungie.... DO THIS IN THE FUTURE!
-
The community asked for it. Quests as a way of earning exotics vs xurning them all.

2 RepliesEdited by Mr_Haad: 2/8/2016 6:52:01 AMNo sure what you mean. Sleeper Simulant Black Spindle(not really a quest) Touch of Malice Ace of Spades Fabian Strategy Tlaloc 3 exotic swords I'm counting 9 that can be obtained through quest. All the others from drops. EDIT: There's 11 not 9 First Curse and No Time to Explain are the other 2 EDIT: I guess you mean TTK exotics. Yeah you're right.

20 RepliesEdited by XS Strength: 2/7/2016 2:38:44 AMI think that is one of the things bungie got right in y2. If you want that exotic got to earn it! Way better than relying on rng.
