Nightfall loot sucks

There was a time when clans reigned supreme. The height of that time, IMO, was late vanilla, early TDB, when VoG, crota's end, and the nightfall were eagerly devoured as early in the week as possible. It was a time when men would schedule time away from their wives and girlfriends to do their weekly clan raids and everyone showed up on time, or maybe raid with their wives and girlfriends. We would slog through nightfalls and revel in having a weapon in each slot for that week's burn, always hoping for the drop that eluded you, where the worst reward was a legendary weapon. Things have changed now, the golden age is behind us as we feed off the scraps of our friends lists and wander into the wasteland of LFG. What is the story of your clan's death? The story that set you off on your own? My clan were heavy hitters. We met in VoG where we spent every Tuesday night. We all logged on for reset on the morning of TDB, and got to Crota within four hours of the raid launching. We killed him the first week. We were among the first to do two sword crota, and ran a stream for ten hours every Saturday where teams of three would carry three first timers through hard crota kills. We went through all the slumps (or the kotaku coined "malaise " periods) pretty well. We first fractured at trials. We were all great raiders, but only half played a lot of PvP. Add to that the fact that trials loot was superior to PoE loot and was guaranteed to drop at the lighthouse, our clan split. Half of us were a liability to a team looking to go flawless and our PvP folks didn't have the patience to be held back. With trials loot being so good, nobody wanted to worry about skolas anymore. We were fractured. TTK brought us back together briefly, but we never had full clan fireteams. It would be three or four clan mates with some friends of friends. Now, my friend list sits empty, save three or four hardcore players. Nobody does the nightfall, few do the raid. People gave up on 320 since the grind was too long. Our original clan members now bear at least four different tags and most groups are now groups of three that only do trials. Edit: it looks like 3 man fireteam activities in HoW fractured a lot of teams. Now we have Crimson doubles coming. Maybe the next major event will be 1v1 elimination. Tell your story below.

  • Action by the British parliament following the failed attempt by Charles Edward Stewart in 1745 to bring power back to Scotland. My clan lost its lands, the right to bear arms and its castle is an obscure ruin which not even visited by tourists. Never been in a Destiny clan, I don't like the tartan.
