You make a lot of assumptions concerning latency and skill gaps in both playlists. If your assumptions are correct then people will not play in the bad playlist. Currently many solo players avoid playing in team focused playlists completely. This may increase the overall player count in crucible and as solo players become more proficient in the roles and objectives in team based games, they may move back to the team playlists with new friends they've made in the freelance playlists. Regardless the direction it goes it's worth a shot to try.

  • I make no assumptions, it's just a fact. Less players in a playlist will increase these problem as you have a smaller pool to pull from. How big of an impact will this make? I admit I have no idea. Assuming that this change will bring players back is a big assumption. A small change like this won't gain any press. Only current players will even hear about it. My biggest issue is how Bungie has handled these things in the past. I feel like if this doesn't go well, they won't admit the mistake and revert it. Instead they will continue to bandage the issue. This however is my assumption, I can only hope for the best. I write this to help inform players of the possible problems this can create.

  • The only fact here, is that they are implementing it. And clearly, they expect it to improve the situation. Why don't you want until it's out, instead of rushing to assumptions. Don't waste anyone's time, including yours, until you've seen it first hand.

  • Your post is a waste of time... Why? Because you got time to waste just like everyone else here. Your welcome :)

  • It's not a fact, especially with the matchmaking changes factoring in connection quality and skill. It could just as easily improve many people's experience. You also have to consider that trying to prioritize connection quality against a team is far more complicated than individual connections of solo players. I frequently face teams that have 4 green bars and two red/yellow bars. The one thing that is likely with smaller player population in a given playlist is que times. Everything else you mention could go either way and is a matter of random luck in who you get paired against. And I didn't assume anything, I used the word "may" which is stating a possibility and not claiming a certainty about a given thing. That is what you did, which are all actually assumptions.

  • While I certainly agree that this may improve matchmaking for solo players, It then will at the same time make things worse for fire teams. You can't have one without the other. Personally I think the problem of facing fireteams doesn't justify discouraging fireteams. That's my opinion, I don't too often play in a fireteam, but I like the idea that when I want to it doesn't seriously dampen my gameplay experience. Again this may barely change these issues in which case this will be a good thing. Based on past experience with other games, I do assume that this will not have the positive impact they think it will. At the end of the day, prediction as all about assumption based on few facts.
