Historically, it seems right around the time we're getting tired of waiting for something new, Bungie finally drops something. For now, its the hearts in the Tower. They're working on it. We've been through this many many times. Be patient.

When has there been a longer drought of communication and content for destiny since Alpha? Not trying to be rude I just can't really remember a time before this cues the time between alpha and beta was what 2 months and after beta we were updated weekly not every six months about what was coming and their plans for the community PvP and PvE wise (most Y1 players remember the Queens Wraith event and the very first IB)

Lmfao nah you Gucci~ But yeah the time between reveals content drops or just general information were about two weeks to maybe a month or two at the longest since leading up to Day 1 at least as far as I can remember!
