What was your favorite crucible meta?
Personally I was a fan of the pulse rifle meta, yeah the weapon class was too strong, but you could use so many different pulse rifles effectively that at least there was some variety. Right now last word effectively beats out every hand cannon and Mida destroys every scout rifle. I guess you see doctrine sometimes too.
But anyways curious on everyone's thoughts.
Edit: Seems people aren't a fan of the current meta, though I'm sure that's true during the time of every meta if you did a poll like this.

Auto or pulse rifle meta. In AR meta there was a skill gap and in pulse rifle meta there were a diversity of weapons.

I hated SUROS meta because I could never get SUROS to drop back then. Thorn/blink shotgun/ final round sniper meta was epic. Lots of OP strats. Pulse rifle meta was interesting because of all the pulse rifles we FINALLY saw get some spotlight. This meta seems boring. More people using MIDA and TLW now than people were using Thorn right before 2.0

I don't see how people call this era the TLW/mida meta. I see other weapons being used all the time. So what sweaties are gonna use the best weapons with fast ttk. I use variety Jade Rabbit mida grasp of malok hawkmoon TLW nerwins mercy the Vanity the Villainy. Switch it up you'll find you can be successful with anything... Change your playstyle & stay in range for your weapons.

Does noone remeber thorn era?!?!?! Jeez at least right now you can use other weapons and they still work dam near against other stuff. Thorn era you didn't own a thorn you might as well stay out of pvp and people want that back but piss and moan about how it is now? Mind boggling.

2 RepliesOriginally voted for the Thorn meta until I had a flashback and realised how centralising it was. Pulse was at least a bit more varied. Nirwins was annoying but at least Juju and Red Death were actually fun to use.

the one that doesn't have lag.. honestly I don't care if I get head sniped by a sniper, shot by a shotgun, melted from a fusion rifle, blown apart by a rocket.. you get the point.. its that lag.. all these supposed changes they have been making and I see zero difference in my game play. piles of red and yellow bars all the time and its frustrating.. then you get a few games in a row where everything is great and you land the shots you know you should be landing, you get the melee etc.. then right back to frustration and lag.

Majority of people want the OG last word/thorn meta back. Remember the time when pvp was actually fun....

3 RepliesThe auto rifle meta. Since that time, auto rifles just haven't been on par. All auto rifles were great, SUROS Regime was king, Shadow Price, if you had similar rolls to SUROS, was second in command. As someone who hates most hand cannons and pulse rifles, the next two metas, coupled with the fact that auto rifles became and are still sub-par, were two of the worst metas for this game. Now Last Word has returned from it's grave (Why can't auto rifles do that?), and MIDA is going to get all scout's nerfed, because rather than buff everything else, Bungie just nerfs what's good or decent across the board. The only thing I like during the hand cannon meta was shotgun viability. All shotguns were good, with a few standouts because, once again, Bungie doesn't understand that making certain weapons the absolute best will just make everyone gravitate towards them.

Honestly.... None of those metas really affected me. I did use Suros until I got a good scout. Been using scouts ever since. I hate thorn though. Annoying weapon.

Can I voted neither. I'm not a follower I use my own weapons. Today I went full "tryhard" to the community. It was super fun to Last Word people and snipe people. Oh and 3 shot people with the raid machine gun but guess what? My normal loadout is Hung Jury, Party Crasher (I switch to 1000 Yard Stare when I have a camping sniper in my lane) and the Truth. This is my loadout. This is no meta, this is MY loadout with my perks. I'm not copying all the YouTubers no. I'm making something that I like that is really -blam!-ing good. Stupid Rant that had No Meaning Over

Thorn meta. Fast paced and kept you on your toes. It also didn't have many sniper lanes.

10 RepliesEdited by Wheeze: 2/5/2016 2:40:51 PMHonestly, the hand cannon era was my favorite, but that was due to a combination of who I was playing with, the PvP gear that was available to me and the fact that Bladedancer actually worked. I know hand cannons were OP, but that was when I was having the most fun in PvP. Fwiw, there were other viable alternatives, Red Death, the Messenger and Vex Mythoclast for CQC were all strong as well in that time, but many gravitated to hand cannons the way many are now gravitating to MIDA.
