I recognize there are some people that hate the update...
And I recognize my opinion may not be correct in everyone's eyes.
But removing special will allow for more primary battles early on, and force players to learn map control.
Most players will need to adapt, and get better at pvp without constant special ammo... this means the crucible will be more competitive in a healthy way, unlike terrible connection SBMM
But what do I know! I'd rather hear what you all think - Let's get some discussion going
-
It only makes 4-6 bullet difference, usually I would shoot about 3 first 20 seconds trying to get some early on sniper shots, and then pick up like 2 boxes per round. Ammo is no where near scarce enough. However I am curious about the new ammo box timers
-
Since I use my primary the most, this isn't a big deal for me.
-
Adapt.... Adapt with a primary ranged chaperone.... Adapt with a TLW?
-
Agreed. Adapt and improve. Players rely on special ammo too much. No more sniping fresh into the match, or going balls deep into somebody's face with a shotgun right off the bat. I'm betting special Ammo will become as coveted as heavy ammo when it drops.
-
I sent invective being used a lot...
-
Snipers do know how to control the map thats why they get alot of head shots lol. They will just have to adjust and learn again
-
2 Repliesnow just remove heavy ammo from trials and other 3v3 playlist and bungie will be on a even better track.

1 ReplySidearms just became top tier

Super chaining when pubstompers constantly get super kills and poop orbs for their teammates and it never stops is way more cancerous in my eye than shotgun warriors and hard scopers. That's normally what does me in when I end up in blowouts. When I think to myself, "That guy JUST had a super!", it's not good. There is nothing "competitive" about that. Using your guns (even the special weapons) is more "competitive" than using special abilities with added damage resistance and easier killing ability with less risk. Spawning in with no special is only delaying the inevitable. People will play slower while waiting for special ammo. The game will get slowed down when ammo spawns. They already nerfed special ammo crates. It used to REALLY be unlimited. I actually find myself with no special more often than I would expect. Probably because I whiff a lot of shots. Because of the uniqueness and diversity of the primary weapons in Destiny, it helps balancing your primaries weakness by pairing it with a special that covers it. I could see even less diversity in peoples loadouts by removing special ammo on spawn.

Its great all around and allows alot more opportunity for play styles and I mean Alot for 1 I can use my first curse. Last word usage just might go down except for die hard CQC ppl. Replenish is actually useful now on weapons lol. Side arms can see more usage. Invective and No Land Beyond will be ugly but the means more legendary primary use (not bad) and less of a stale meta I'll take it
-
When I read about special ammo: "-blam!- YES, FINALLY WE CAN START THE FIGHT LIKE MEN NOW"
-
Except that people are still going to rage about it in 6v6, where all the "scrubs" tend to play.
-
Invective all day
-
I agree and I welcome the change. Should make for a few more interesting engagements. It's s reasonable way to address all the shotgun/sniper butt hurt out there.
-
I agree.
-
Agreed
-
Agree with you. I wish they would reduce supers frequency on some playlist as well

Bad players are just gonna get worse in his update. RIP me :(
