Today Something Magical Happened!
As a dedicated Warlock, since Day One and literally only playing my single Warlock the entire time, I had never even considered playing anything else.
Today I logged into Destiny, loaded up my Warlock, picked up a few bounties and ..... I just couldn't bring myself to do anything. Mind you it was 7am EST and most of my clan was sleeping at this time or at work, so a Raid just wasn't interesting to me yet. I had already done the Nightfall and Run all 3 of my Strikes for the week.
That's when I remembered, I had a level 5 Titan sitting lonely for almost 5 months now. Started him with every intention on making a Sunbreaker due to TTK hype at the time. So, in my boredom I decided to give the lonely Titan a whirl.
I loaded him up, looked around the Tower seeing all the level 40s running about, dancing, and pointing at things. Here I was a level 5 Titan in a big sea of maxed out players. This must be how it feels to be new to the game, something I haven't felt in a long time. I had leveled my Warlock up along with everyone else, I ran the OG Loot Cave with everyone else, I shared adventures in Year 1, I defeated Skoalas, Conqured the Vault of Glass, and Killed Oryx's son. I had never been that far behind everyone else before, sitting there with my Titan, it felt good.
I took out the level boost I got from TTK launch, that had been sitting in my vault, boosted the Titan to lvl 25 and a magical thing happened! All those Year 1 weapons I missed so much, that sat in my vault collecting dust .... they were brand new again, not literal but figuratively. I could actually use them again and they would be relevant!
With my brand new Level 25 Titan, dusting off the Supremacy, slinging the Silimar's Wrath over my shoulder, and shining up the old friend Gally. I stepped into Story Mode, ready (a bit OP honestly) and willing to take this adventure head on, to relive the feelings of being Year 1 all over again. So far it has been fun, I know it will only last a short while, I am already getting TTK gear that is better than Year 1 items, but for the moment I am Year 1 again and I am happy.

Bored. Found some nice armor pieces for a Hunter so I decided to level one up. (Void flayer cloak, graviton forfeit) I planned the move for weeks, I wanted to take my Hunter through KF hard. So I stockpiled using my 319 warlock. Engrams, high level blues for infusion, exotic shards, Hunter specific gear, everything. Then I pushed my Hunter to level 40 in 2 days. (A long two days) Took my Hunter straight to 308 with what I had saved. One week later: Now I'm 316 with a KF hard and challenge mode under my belt. And I love my Hunter, though it is taking forever to max out the subclasses lol

4 RepliesThis is why I don't like making new characters: "Where's my maxed subclasses?" "Where's my Tlaloc?" "Where's my exotic sword?" "Oh god, this mission [i][b]again[/b][/i]." "Where's my MIDA?" "Oh boy, a blue weapon!" "I've been at 290 light for two weeks. Fun." "Hey, now I can farm the raid [i]even more![/i]" Different classes don't change the gameplay enough for me to grind twice as much.

I've been having fun with my titan However I'm finding it a long grind to increase my subclasses Did they reduce the rate at which the xp rose? My Warlock leveled up fast I need to work on my hunter again He's been neglected since I started my Warlock.

3 RepliesI don't understand how people found enough content to keep playing this game without having three characters. After Dark Below came out all weekly activities took like an hour and a half if you only had one.

Haha I feel you, I started a titan on a new account recently, and I'm having a lot of fun too. Trying old/other weapons, being actually thrilled to find new stuff. Even quest rewards are interesting now :P

SGA: All the Y2 quest exotic weapons can be equipped at light level 30. I had alot of fun with the Sleeper Simulant when I hit level 30 on my 3rd char.

If I remember correctly just doing the TTK story made our characters go up 5-6 levels. Do all the game missions and you will probably be level 40. Not like the grind in the old days. Have fun.

The main reason I haven't deleted a character for a replay is There's not enough space in my Vault to save all the gear that character is holding

I understand. The last time I started a new character it was back towards when TTK released. I was bored with HoW and started my Hunter over. It was so much fun running new builds and busting out my old weapons. It's not quite the same then as it would be now but I feel you brother.

Edited by Toketotem: 2/5/2016 4:26:37 AMYeah I rerolled my warlock and hunter a few weeks ago out of boredom. The level you can equip some of the stuff makes you really OP for a few levels. Murmur can be equiped at 10 Strangers rifle at 16 All your old Raid weapons and year 1 exotics at 20. I was running around with VOC, icebreaker and Gjallarhorn for kicks. And at 30 you can equip the TTK quest exotics like Sleeper Simulant, No time to explain, and the swords (I didn't notice if I could use the Black Spindle). Made leveling pretty fun. I didn't use any boosts, and honestly had a pretty good time.

I'm doing the same thing on my hunter. It's great running the black garden with my old set up.

I feel like i missed so much. I bought destiny after TTK launched due to not having a PS4 at the time. a lot of content is reduntant and the only thing worth playing is the raid at the moment while there is al lot of good content...

I had a similar feeling when I just bought a ps4 with destiny. Being an xb1 player I had levelled all my characters so it was becoming boring. I fired up my new ps4, loaded up my destiny and away I went. It was awesome, playing through all the old content as a fresh player from level 1. There was me on the xb1 huffing at my shite rewards with nothing else to aim for, when all of a sudden on the ps4 I was getting stoked about receiving a green or blue engram. Discovering all the ghosts you couldn't remember where they were. Doing all the strikes again. Pretty cool feeling.
