Have you ever pulled out a legendary hand cannon or an auto rifle in trials (other than the doctrine?)
My point is that those two classes are so rarely used because TLW over shadows them. It makes no sense that these weapon classes are obsolete because of one gun.
I don't care if they buff the other guns or nerf TLW. Bungie just needs to do something and they've repeated many times that autos and hand cannons are in the right place now.

The only two primaries I use now are Mida & Tlaloc. The only reason TLW is popular now is because this is a camping sniper meta. What gun compliments a sniper better than TLW? The answer is none. This meta is boring & you're complaining about the wrong weapon, period.
