It's an odd concept to practice, but dodging into an attack is sometimes viable. It's gotta be pretty tight with the iFrames... If the enemy swings with the arm to the player's left, you dodge to the left and foreward, on the diagonal, theoretically winding up behind the enemy for a couple whacks. Situational, but when it works... oh man. Also work on observing enemies. Most attacks have a parry window. Gotta find it first before you can exploit it. Some windows are wider than others. Edit Lock on can be an absolute curse against large bosses. If you feel like you're struggling with a boss hecause of shitty camer, have a go without locking on. Sometimes its wierd, sometimes it's utter gold.

    • If Dark Souls is about blocking and defence, Bloodborne is about agression and attack. Just don't be silly about it. Early in the game, the enemies come straight at you so you can dodge to the right and wail on them. But being your first time it might pay to be just a touch cautious until you get comfortable with the controls etc.

      • Always be cautious, and if you're like me, they'll be some situations in boss fights where you have an opportunity to attack, but you don't want to take the chance. But there will be some situations where you have to take chances and land some hits if you want to win. You also need to learn when to back off and not get greedy with your hits during some fights, especially if you don't trust the movement of your enemy. Speaking of which, pay attention to every detail of your enemy's flow and movement to predict their next action. Good luck.

Patience. Learn the environment, learn your weapons. Figure out which one you like the most, and make its movement second nature to you. This game is all about observing attack patterns and exploiting weakness (meaning openings for attacks and healing). Beasts are weak to fire, like the werewolves. This game don't see have a story, it's just all in environmental story telling, npcs, and item descriptions, you gotta piece it together yourself. Don't attack everything right away, they might be an npcs. Talk to npcs multiple times. The world changes, no harm in backtracking. There are 4 main stats, Skill (fast weapons, like the threaded cane), Strength (strong weapons like the axe), Bloodtinge (guns and weapons that literally use blood), and Arcane (Magic, which is fire and lightning). Learn to parry with your gun. If you need help you can add me, I'm always playing souls games.

        • Great game. You need a lot of patience to enjoy it and if you get on a really hard part feel free to take a little break. Study your enemy's. Don't take death as a failure take it as a lesson. Every time you died there's something to learn. As for builds look at a guide on YouTube and pick the one you like the most. Make sure to upgrade your weapon occasionally. Also if you find weapons in the world don't sell it until you know you can buy it back. I lost the sword pistol that way and can't get it back till NG+.

Be aggressive, but not stupid Learn your weapon inside and out, and learn how to use it Practice visceral attacks Keep an eye on the environment Use each death as a learning experience, not a setback. Use what you learned to overcome your obstacle. If you would like more advice on particular things, just let me know! I'd be glad to help in any way I can.

          • Get comfortable with knowing when to roll, and often times that means rolling towards an attack. This might feel counter intuitive but it'll help get you into position to follow up with an attack. The 'armour' in this game can help give you an edge, but most times the differences are very small unless stacking a particular resistance. This isn't required though, 'dress' as you see fit. Find a play style that you like and stick with it stat-wise. Also, know when to take a break and reflect. There's a lot going on and can be fairly intimidating.

            Try tongue but hole
Thoroughly explore every corner, some areas are extremely well hidden that you may miss them entirely on your first playthrough.

When you defeat the final boss, the game immediately starts NG+. Be sure to grab an item called the "blood stone" before fighting him.

Git gud.
Here's a tip: don't play like Arin Another good piece of advice: find and use the madman's knowledge in the sewers, it'll enable you to level up before you fight a boss. Though finding a boss also gives you what you need to level up. And one last thing: the lady with the beak-like face mask? Do NOT hit her! You will regret that decision very quickly!
