Thorn isn't a three body shot killer.

At optional range, thorn will body for 54 plus the stacked DoT. (54×3)+([3dmg×6ticks]×3shots)= 162+(18 total DoT × 3 shots)= 162+54=216 If my math is off, someone let me know but it seems like a pretty consistent 3 body kill to me.

Math is off. DoT does not stack.

Is there a glitch? When 2.0 dropped it specifically reduced the Dot damage by 1/3 but allowed it to stack up to 5 times per the patch notes.

So the reddit post on damage in 2.0 lists thorn as a 4 body shot killer, 3 headshot. Maybe lag in game has not been displaying damage ticks properly so I was mistaken on the DoT, but I knew it wasn't a 3 body shot. Time to kill is higher than last word and on par with legendary hand cannons, and higher than virtually every high rof auto rifles.

Lol I’m glad I’m not the only one who searches the internet when someone challenges something I stated as fact in order to provide the most relevant and correct information. I haven’t found anything that definitively proves it’s a 3 body kill. I know that it’s base damage wasn’t nerfed, just the DoT. In theory, I should be a 3 body but I can’t find anything I’m comfortable posting as fact. I might just have to test it in rumble to clash, record my findings, and either correct or provided proof of my statement. Thanks for your input.

Yeah the reason I looked was because I knew it wasn't three from using it a month or so ago, but like anything on here, I can't just say that and expect you to believe it. I'm not saying it's not a good gun either. It is definitely good, borderline op but not quite in my opinion. Glad to find someone that doesn't take disagreement personally.

Edited by SLASHER88BRAVO: 2/3/2016 11:27:19 PMThe only reason I've taken another look at this weapon is all the people talking about it in sweats. It's still very good even at 1 headshot with 2 body. Seems like it could need another look. To be honest tho, i still have a fulcrum with LitC, final round, and smallbore. I can still 2 tap with crits when LitC proc. Feels dirty but good but dirty good... You take care in what you say. Much respect!

In practice, it does not stack. In game, the DoT counts from the impact of each shot. If you hit a second shot, it does not have a second DoT or a double DoT. Current gen thorn is a three headshot weapon. Year one was a two headshot gun.

TLW wrecks thorn...OP pretty much stated this...so why use the inferior gun? Ive seen ramblings about thorn again recently but i think ive seen 1 in the past 30 matches.

Usually dependant on game mode. If you go into rumble, or skirmish or elimination there's usually 1 or 2 in my experience.
