So I'm really hyped for darksouls3 but I've never played a souls title. I played bloodborne and went with a strength build with the lugwin holy sword. I know souls titles are slower pace than that but is there any tips/ builds you would suggest me trying?

Look at the fighting pattern of the enemies so you know when to attack ;)

First tip. Play the other 2 fames. They're fun as hell and you'll get used to combat and such. So when ds3 comes out you'll be much more prepared. I've heard this one will be harder than the first one on the count of enemies and bosses won't be easily read and telegraphed. Games are fun if you have a pc I have the first sin one I'll play with ya or if you have an xbox one I have scholar of the first sin I'll start a character with you on that. I've played a bunch of hours on them.

Roll a lot

I can't say for sure since the game hasn't released yet but one tip I can give is Praise the sun \[T]/

When in doubt, shield out. Also, going with a dexterity build is good since you will be able to out range and move faster than most opponents can attack.

1 ReplyYou've played Bloodborne so you should already expect to die; it's a bit of a given. As for builds? Dark Souls I and II were okay with you using a shield, so maybe to sword & board. But, if you're already comfortable with Ludwig's, maybe try a Guts build? Big two-hander, high strength, endurance, HP, and a recovery. From looking at the trailers though, Dark Souls III may end up being much faster paced than previous games.

Just roll through it, man.

Death is ok. The game is pretty much designed for you to get killed so don't stress too much

Don't die...
good luck!
Not trying to blow my own horn. I have platinum trophies on all souls games. Here's a rough list of things to know. Play smart, not dumb. Observe your environment (look on the ground, sky and in the distance) There is no 'Best weapon' its whatever move set plays to your style. Be conservative on your supplies (throwing knives and bombs etc etc) And the biggest one? You will die. Learn from it, love it. Its a hard lesson not all will understand.

Play Dark Souls 1 then, or Demon's if you have a ps3. Seriously people stop coming in mid games and asking if it's alright, just shut up and play the old ones, the new one isn't even out yet.
-
Ds3 is trying to be a mix of ds1 and bloodborne. Not quite as fast as bloodborne but faster than ds.
-
Souls usually plays more defensively while bloodborne is more full offensive. My tip to you for ds3, forget shields. Maybe on your first play through use one as a crutch but after that, never use one. You'll be amazed how much better you get.

Go blind and have fun

4 RepliesGo for a Quality(Strength and Dexterity) build at first. Also Souls games have a weight system that effects how fast you roll/dodge the less weight you have EQUIPED (not in your inventory, but actually on your character) the faster you roll and sprint. Dark Souls 3 is probably gonna be the second fastest souls title (Demon's Souls being the fastest) so heavy armor may not be the best for you since you're used to Bloodborne(which is even faster than demon's souls). You can indeed increase your carrying capacity by leveling. We don't know which stat it'll be yet since it has a tendency to change. If all else fails then start over with a magic oriented character. It's the game's hidden easy mode.

Roll a lot. I heard 3 is great at simulating that.

2 RepliesDark souls 2 is only $20 right now on psn.
