Fix Arc Blade 2

The problem I have with Arc Blade isn't the damage resistance or the lack of speed. The problem that I have with Arc Blade is its consistency. Right now, we have what I would consider "Slayer" supers. Golden Gun, Hammer of Sol, Stormtrance, and Arc Blade. Arc Blade is the only slayer super that requires you to be in an opponent's face to get the kill. In Year One, this super was considered one of the best if not the best super in the game despite this requirement. As Year One progressed people became familiar with Arc Blade movements and began to shotgun them out of their super with some ease. This, along with every other super being able to take an Arc Blade down added some more requirements to be good with an Arc Blade. You had to be aware of your opponent's super and what weapon they had on. With The Taken King, Bungie added three new supers that became threats to Arc Blade. This DLC also included ninja nerfs (nerfs that were introduced a week before TTK) to Arc Blade. People that used Arc Blade before this noticed that the difference was pretty clear. The term "short-stop" began to be used more. Arc Blade is in a pretty bad spot right now. Titans can simply titan skate away or use Twilight Garrison to evade (as shown in this video) and shotgun you. Hunters can apparently single jump to evade your attacks (as shown in this video). Warlocks can jump (I think) like the other classes. A super that is supposed to kill at close-range shouldn't be missing these easy hits and end up losing to a shotgun. Arc Blade is seriously a joke compared to other slayer supers in its current state. - From the description. [spoiler]Fun fact: Arc Blade is a Bladedancer's super.[/spoiler]

      Agreed...no armor n horrible registry....i double swipe now to ensure a kill...and its not guaranteed hitting twice will kill them...arcbolt got nerfed to hell wit the pre-patch...flux grenades are a joke...mag and fusion grenades that attach both change direction to catch an opponent...flux...can be stuck on someones face and they still walk off

    • Plus they added Heavy Swords that do WAAAAY more damage and have Way better special attacks (vs showstopper) So now everyone can be a blade dancer! But also block damage... And use it constantly... Seriously why arent people complaining about swords like they do/used to about ArcBlade?

        • I agree hit detection needs fixing. But in those clips some where obvious you were gonna die. All three people in the other team were shooting you while you were in arc blade when you were charging them down. Wad ya think was going to happen. And another time you were already on low health and you were trying to close the gap between you and two people but got killed. That should of happened. By the way arc blade use to be op. U proved it in that vid at start were you killed TWO self res warlocks. Hit detection does need fix though. I just thought some of those clips were not the best examples.

              I agree that the short hits need to be fixed. Hammer of Sol has the same crap with the hammers not hitting properly too.

              • They just need to fix hit detection, everything else is alright, imo quick draw, blink, and hungering blade make up for the super. Besides if used correctly it will kill a Hammer of Sol titan mid super no problem, a Stormtrance warlock in their super on the other hand is a different story...

                  When you swipe in the air after someone, why does the Hunter not do a rising uppercut? And when airborne, why are you swiping? Why not use the electromagnetic Arc energy to propel forward and turbine spin? But in all seriousness, the super does need work The hit detection and tracking coup be improved. There are time when they're right in my face, and they'll miss. They do advance quickly by swiping, but they have no other means of mobility. If they had something to close the gap, I could see the swipes not using up super energy. In pve, they need to do improved damage and generate more orbs.

                  I always thought Arc Blade, Stormtrance, and the like were called roaming supers. Aside from that the hit detection definitely needs to be fixed..Though Hammer of Sol suffers the same issues with hammers detonating too early for a kill since the blast radius was reduced. Hopefully they both get fixed at the same time.
