Why don't people use Year One Exotics like Thorn and Vex Mythoclast?
I always hear people ask for a Year 2 Thorn, and everyone says they don't want it because it'll ruin crucible. That makes no sense because you can still use Thorn and Vex in crucible and Year One stuff. Hell, you can use it in Year 2 content (except the raid) if you're a high enough light. It'll lower you about 15-20 levels though. All exotics should be carried over but I don't understand the logic behind holding back thorn to save the crucible, when you can STILL use it there since light doesn't matter. I used thorn in iron banner and still killed people.

That gun requires 0 skill.

I do use Thorn for daily patrols and bounties. It's been my long time favorite weapon in PVE even with all the changes. According to Destiny Tracker Thorn is still my most used Primary Exotic for each guardian. I know it means I'm less effective. Versus T1 enemies on the Dreadnaught the difference between Thorn or a Y2 280 LL weapon isn't terrible. Get beyond Tier 1 enemies and the difference becomes much more magnified, this is the reason I'd like to see a Y2 version.

2 RepliesBecause right before TTK they were ruined. They nerfed them through the ground so the year one exotics are now shit. They want them balanced and brought forward to year two. Also they couldn't be used in IB as those levels actually matter.
