Scoring dome shots with a sniper rifle in Pvp is the most skill reliant way to get kills in the crucible.
Nothing comes close to requiring the same amount of skill, shotgunning ? Pfft fusions? Dont think so. Primaries? Really? Not a chance.
Before you tell me im wrong, at the top of your response please write your precision kill percentage with sniper rifles.
Edit: Im strictly talking about headshots here. Not 2 body shots, or 1 body shot and a primary mop-up. Strictly headshots only

7 RepliesEdited by Star Gazer2: 2/1/2016 5:20:26 PMThere is nothing wrong with sniping, my issue is that you can snipe too much. Special ammo is ruining it by being far too kind and making special weapons too damn available. High-damage weapons like that need to be limited, when they are not limited they are seen as over-powered. THEY ARE OVER-USED.

As of our current meta it doesn't.

I've stayed silent on this Sniper vs. Shotgun debate but after playing different games and using Snipers in them I have to say Sniping in Destiny is incredibly easy. The factors in sniping in Destiny is Aim Assist, Bullet Magnetism and Hitboxes. One of the games I've played is TF2 where you play as the sniper clsss. I played a match on Dustbowl on RED and I attempted to Snipe. It was way harder to get headshots due to no aim assist at all. I then switched back to Medic and continued the game. So using that one comparison I will say that Sniping in Destiny is incredibly eaiser due to those factors but in the arguement of which takes more skill I'm staying silent because my judgement hasn't been made yet.

Over 500 kills with nlb and 75% precision rate nlb is amazing and takes skill snipers just beg for headshots i find myself not even trying sometimes
-
Yes because sitting a distance away and killing the person who doesn't know you're there is much harder than running in with a shotgun, dodging the enemy's shots, and getting close enough to take them out. Ya...

1 ReplyLet's see. Right now I'm sitting at a 53% headshot ratio. Made a new character recently and he's at 72% so I've been doing better with sniping lately. Still have a ways to go before I'm a snipe pro. Sniping isn't the toughest thing in game. It's not the easiest, but it's not the toughest. For me personally, pulses are the toughest to do well with. Don't like any of their archetypes, get outdone by just about anything, etc. It does take skill to snipe, but you're giving it too much credit to say it's the toughest.

4 RepliesGetting double kills with Havoc Pigeon and Iron Wreath takes way more skill and is super rewarding. Heck, taking out rushing shotgunners with any sidearm just makes my day. :D
-
1 ReplyLanding hits may be harder, but there is generally less trying to kill you from various directions, so it takes less skill to stay alive when sniping.

Exactly.

7 Replieschaperone is the only secondary to take skill. most rewarding and punishing weapon in pvp imo.
-
When you run into sniping gods just take the ass woopin like a man.
-
But the snipers have head magnets and no sway. Throwing knife only then talk.

9 RepliesRunning around sniping people at medium to close range takes a lot of skill, yes. Camping with a sniper rifle pointed across the map doesn't require much skill. Like jump sniping, or blink sniping. Someone who doesn't miss very often while using a very aggressive play style is pretty impressive to me.
-
87.5% precision shots I think sniping is one of the hardest parts of the game
-
3 Replies81.5% in trials. In Y1, sniping was harder, due to thorn and it's 2 headshot DOT, to me at least. Now, I feel shot gunning is harder, idk. I can't seem to consistently get 1 hit kills. Fusions are terribly inconsistent. I would say doing well with a shotgun is harder, not trading kill for kill. Honestly, if you were in a 1v3, what secondary would you rather have. Sniper? Or shotgun.

Sniping is the easiest thing in the game why do you think every -blam!- is a sniper
-
Battlefield sniping > destiny's heavily AA sniping
-
Most skilful specials to use is a sidearm or non exotic fusion rifle. It's why they are hardly ever seen in crucible. In battlefield using a sniper takes skill. It's why I can't hit shit in that game lol
-
Lol keep telling yourself that kid

1 Reply90% + accuracy on all 3 characters

Sure, sitting at the back of the map hardscoping doors takes ton of skill. -blam!-.
-
Being a good, helpful person in real life and in game takes the most skill. Not pitting person vs person and seeing who's stick is bigger. Get better values.

1 ReplyFusion rifles take the most skill
-
1 ReplyHeadshot percentage is like 75 last time I checked way harder to use a fusion that's not plan c and do well

Not in Destiny. No.
