Title says it all.
It's not overly difficult to go into IB Rift solo, what is difficult is people quitting as soon as the opposing team scores once. Hell, 3 people dropped out in one of my last matches when all the enemy team did was pick up the spark! The medallion buff you get when you lose a match, clearly isn't enough to keep people in the game, so something else needs to be put in place.
Other than the frequent team dropouts, I'm pleasantly surprised to find that I'm enjoying rift as an IB game mode. I do feel like the level advantages aren't as strict this time around though. I'm going up against 300+ light guardians whilst I'm only 260 and I'm holding my own pretty well.
*Lots of good suggestions/potential solutions coming in. Hopefully it'll get noticed and thought about by someone at Bungie.*

I have gone same thing you did.. I agree with your idea.... I wish punish players for cost of reps or medallion.... if not work, then iron banner should put full lock down mean players can't leave till game is finish... I like to add some players in my team leave quicky because they want unlock overall score points on bounty. I am not happy about players leave because steal their thurder.... I thought some players care about winning than unlocked bounty... Wow, I might be wrong some points.,

Good luck with that lol

1 ReplyNormally I would agree but IB's gotten to the point that there's no reason to stay in a match if you have all the tokens to turn in at a win or you get thrown into a match that's half over. If Bungie would actually fix the issues instead of causing more nobody would bail out of a match.
-
Agreed

When people quit matches it creates a domino effect since the people who replace them also understandably quit, either because the match is un winnable or because of the frustration of being dropped in a game in progress. I prefer to stay because I usually get better "pity loot" in a loss rather than a win anyway. After being mercy'd and only one of three left on my team, I got a 311 IB scout with triple tap, perfect balance and third eye. Not a bad reward for taking a beating.

Until bungie gets their weapons balanced you cant blame a player for not wanting to deal with the garbage that is this communities 0.85 KD average, or the over abundance of 1k yard hit scanning or (insert whatever meta here) being used by 90% the population.

Edited by More Cowbell: 1/29/2016 8:48:27 PMI agree with you. But only if Bungie fixes lag, not being able to cause damage, the five medallion max, being added to matches in progress, etc.

I see no problem with quiting.
-
Nah, if you're not punishing the people glitching and shit, no reason to punish the people who refuse to play against that.
-
Yea late in the game. But sometimes you have to back out right at spawn if you don't back out in time between
-
Increase medallion cap to 8 or 10.
-
it would be great if you could hold more than 5 medallions

Hahahaha...absolutely not. Here's an example. I joined a game earlier today. Upon group inspection there was a guy with a scarab (insignificant bear with me). He was on my team. We started and I stuck a nade to a guy. I heard and saw it stick, but did no damage. That guy was then on the rift dunking. Haha...I left. I started up another one. That same hunter with the scarab was on my team again because he had probably experienced the exact same thing. At the start of that match everything seemed to be working correctly. We stayed and won. If we had remained in that shit match from the start we would have not enjoyed it and most likely left the game in frustration.

upon descending to the game: i'm the only ship the enemy has the spark! heavy ammo inbound! the enemy has ignited your rift! bring up ghost, return to orbit, repeat.

5 RepliesEdited by Project Zero: 1/28/2016 9:11:17 PM-A team of 3+ players on enemy side; I'm bailing. -Already started match; I'm bailing. -Red bars on the other team; I'm bailing. -Getting placed with bunch of retards who can't play the objective or even finish off an almost dead enemy; I'm bailing. -The other team ignites the spark first; I'm bailing. It is pointless to keep playing if any of the aforementioned situations occured. Plus, if Bungie wants to force a game mode that I don't like, then I'll play however I want.

Yes. Some sort of punishment for leaving or incentive to stay needs to be implemented. Thursday night, the other team got the Rift in about two minutes. 3 bail. They get the Rift a second time, two more bail.. Great. I was 1 v 6 for at least a couple minutes. I ain't quitting though. I got a couple kills while waiting for new people to drop in. It was ugly. How the mercy rule didn't go into effect is beyond me.

If the loot drops after each game were better that would keep the people in I think. I don't leave any game unless I have to actually leave my house or the wife tells me I need to do something ;p
-
Match starts I head to the spark, watch the rest of my random teammates go the opposite way and get destroyed by 2 people and I get destroyed by 4....I leave.
-
1 ReplyThey should instead incentivised being the best player thrown into those helpless games. Maybe then I'd give a damn about rallying for those hopeless matches.
-
2 RepliesAt least they leave. I just afk for 5 games and then win the 6th. Rinse and repeat.
-
2 RepliesIf they stay in a broken unwinnable game they're already suffering mental torture leave them alone.

1 Replyoff topic but oh well..... I select IB playlist, I see I'm matched up against a 6 man team(we are all solo) so I back out. Enter again and another 6 man team, then another and another. I backed out 4 different times and all 6 man fireteams vs all solo players...... So, my question is why aren't those 6 man fireteams being matched against one another? FUK MATCHMAKING
