Starting in 2002, Pete Parsons joined up at Bungie as the Studio Manager as well as the executive producer for Halo 2 and eventually Halo 3, having previously been working at Microsoft.
After founding his own studio, Parsons return to Bungie in 2008 and took up the mantle of COO. Many of your have probably seen his face in relation to talking about different Halo games in the past or more recently with Destiny in his Seven Seraphs shirt (here's a lovely picture in either case). He's well known for having a great smile, being a Mango, and for not being able to beat Frankie at Halo 2.
Here's to all the years to come led by Mr Parsons.

ROFLMAO propaganda alert !
"To the players of Destiny, I want you to know that my number one priority, and Bungie’s, is and always has been to deliver great games that we can all share together. I believe that Destiny is a one-of-a-kind experience. I also believe you have yet to see our studio’s best work. My new role here at the studio will be entirely focused on fulfilling that promise. "
Its your nr 1 Priority to make profit for BUNGIE / ACTIVISION ! I'm so tired of these propaganda texts ! Do you really think the entire destiny base is stupid enough to believe your pathetic letter ? You simply tell the people what they want to hear. That everything is going to be better, everything will be for us. STOP LYING ! You work for PROFIT for ACTIVISION ! Perhaps your 2nd priority is making an awesome game, but even that is a lie probably you care more about having a job and bringing home money for your family which is very respectable. Why Lie to us ? Why do you consider us stupid enough to believe that crap you write ? You think we are all children who still believe in fairytales ? Rather tell us about HOW you plan to fix this game and all the issues at hand. What your vision for this game is. Give us tangible HOPE, not hollow words like CHANGE ... we all know that is BULLSH*T ! GROW UP, and tell the TRUTH ! Which would be something like this :
Ive been asked by Bungie to fix this broken game, sales are dropping, users signing in and playing are dropping, Bungie thought they had a winning concept and somewhere along the line players didnt agree. Now Bungie wants to go a new direction and they hired me because they hope I can fix this broken game. We thought we had an awesome P2P matchmaking system, but finally Bungie realizes this outdated P2P doesnt work. Its broken. I hope to create that that wonderful PVP game experience players dream of, and a PVE experience that will not wear off soon, to make this game the best game you played.
I have hope yet ;-) Though I dont expect PVP issues to be resolved till destiny 2 ... but plz make sure you do ! Dedicated servers !

Edited by Ronin13: 1/28/2016 1:18:29 PMThe King is Dead, Long live the King. 1) Proper matchmaking, give me an option to select group regions I.E. what every other game does. Lag is killing us. 2) Proper dedicated servers for custom matchmaking if you even want to begin the competitive pvp conversation. 3) Real content released on a regular basis that does not render old items/events obsolete. VOG hard mode, let me see what new stuff I am funding with eververse silver, no more blind funding of events I don't want *Cough Crimson Doubles, just make 2's a standard pvp event and actually create something new, please? 4) If you take any more of my exotics away or leave them in last years content level I will no longer go through the hoops of getting them, you're taking away the enthusiasm and want to actually acquire these items if you just take them away again. Mythoclast is gone and it's one of the coolest guns in the game. Get a grip folks. I have a vault full of 294 light level guns I will never use, how about letting me level up weapons without me making deals with the devil for a drop that iI can infuse all these Armsday weapons with. You give out 5 280 items a week, 15 if I do all 3 characters, how the hell am I supposed to level those let alone 3 to a 310+? You've got a lot of work to do Pete, good luck.

2 RepliesPete, you want to impress the player base a restore some hope in Destiny? Admit the theory designed into the LOOT system was a mistake. That it was wrong to burden the loot mechanics with the task of keeping players interested in the game. Instead, the loot system should be fun and the game content should be the focus of maintaining player interest. Until Bungie admits the error of designing such a pernicious loot mechanic, IMHO there really is nothing to talk about or hope for.

Lag is literally at the breaking point in destiny right now.

I'll be devils advocate here and ask what if any difference this appointment is going to make? I ask this because, surely, he was already one of the voices steering Destiny on the path of self destruction that it's now frighteningly far down already! Basically he needs to step onto the plate and explain just what he intends to do differently. Clearly, even in the gaming press now, no-one has much faith in Destiny's direction or where/if a destiny 2 will even be worth the effort. For instance this upcoming 2 v 2 valentines day nonsense. Most people will not or can not take part in it. We have fireteams of 6 for raid and friends don't play favorites with one another so the event almost seems geared to screw with friendships. As friendships formed for the raids are what keep people coming back. It's almost like a deliberate knife in the chest of Destiny 1. Either that or the design team are simply out of touch with the community to such a large extent that they are out of control!

Great news, a man with hearth and passion for what he does. Let's hope he will let the Bungie studio shine again. Set a new standard for the industry with Destiny, just as how Halo set the standard all those years ago.

I agree with you tremendously Charlemagne! I am truly excited to see a Bungie led by Pete. All the times I have played with him and conversations I have had with him over the years have shown me how genuine of a human being he is. I believe he is a gamer at his core and will do right by us. Very excited and hopeful for the years to come. Thank you for posting this:-)

7 RepliesEdited by FallenLegend: 1/28/2016 4:17:49 AMbungie has decayed a lot since the old days when marty the elder was around. Heck Destiny was a great disappointment.

5 RepliesI get the feeling this is a similar situation from what you guys did to Marty

1 ReplyEdited by FallenLegend: 1/28/2016 6:26:24 AMGood riddance... whoever fires marty and scraps Staten's job to make this crappy destiny story we got, deserves it.

Very smart guy!

I'm glad to see Pete back in charge

Just glad tweedle dee or tweedle dumb weren't put in that spot

well, typical PR type comment in the announcement aside, we shall see if he really delivers, or just fails us like all the other promises that have been made since we first heard the word, "Destiny"

Edited by Progo: 1/28/2016 3:07:47 AMGo Pete! Thanks for introducing him to us, Charlemagne.
