Rift = Spawn Camping
Because the mechanics of the Rift never flips the spawn, one team can easily take control of the middle of the map and push into the enemy area and kill people as they spawn. Not to mention since most heavy ammo spawns are in the middle of the maps, they get both drops.
That makes the game to lopsided. An easy fix would be to reset the spawn after the rift is ignited.
Edit: I want to thank Tear Collector for the video showing an example of what I've been discussing.
When there are to many opponents in the primary spawn area (the team was igniting the rift), the game will search for a "new location" to spawn you. That usually delays you from rejoining the fight and spawns you around the spark area. The spawn becomes to predictable.

1 ReplyMaybe it's because they are protecting the objective

6 RepliesOn COD this game is called uplink. Much better design. Score points aren't in the spawns but off to one side of the map. After 8 scores or half the time limit they go to halftime and spawns flip and match continues. Bungie should implement this design to rift.

2 RepliesTo me the wrost in RIFT for Iron Banner purposes is how points are awarded. The Spark grabber/runner gets most of the points. I play solo and the teams I am getting suck. Players are pushing each other at the Spark spawn location instead of allowing the first to arrive to carry it and protect the runner. Folks with ZERO KILLS are getting to the top of the end-game rewards chart. The rewards suck as always so far and the Iron Banner fun was taken away w/ the choice for RIFT. Very poor choice Bungie!

Shameless self promotion.

In CoD it doesn't matter about spawn. If you don't shoot and turn around and shoot. You're dead

6 RepliesAgree, silly design. This is not a good gaming mode imo. Only positive is that most matches are mercied quickly. That means more medals or more XP quickly.... which means you ultimately have to grind less. This is the first iron banner I've played that you literally just want mercies and matches over with ..... Really could care less about winning or losing. We won every match we played as a fireteam last night, and really could care less. Not good.

Or have a permanent bubble in your spawn where you gain an slight overshield (like a revive overshield) every time you step in. This would not only force the enemy team to work harder at pushing your team back to ignite the rift, but would allow players who are being spawntrapped the opportunity to fight the enemies who are spawn trapping back.

1 ReplyActually no. If you try that you'll just starting spawning in the middle of the map

1 ReplyI also just player 5 more games if someone is camping the spawn you are being spawned near teammates . I spawned about10-15 feet from the spark

2 RepliesWell it spawns you AT your rift which is dumb because it makes defence too easy. That being said it should spawn you further back if there are enemy within LoS, I never had an instance where I was spawned directly in front of someone. Switching the spawns each cap is a neat idea to keep it more mobile though. My biggest gripe was killing the whole enemy team at their spawn defending their Rift to give our runner a clear run and they would all spawn right nearby, all 5-6 of them and jump out and kill us... that's rubbish. For IB they should make it so you can't respawn while the Spark is in play or something to make it more organised/skillbased. Heavy isn't that big of a drama, if they are going for both they are split 50/50 so your team should easily take one side of the heavy.

2 RepliesIt's called teamwork!!! Get a full team and spawn camp them, I don't even play pvp, but if I did I'd either lfg for a team or wait for friends to play, bc if your main concern is winning then you'd better have a good team, fireTEAM DUH!

Yep! See this a lot! Far too much.

I've been spawn killed in rift more than any other game I have players. Period. Bunch of cheating is going on too, but Bungie being the piece of shit company they've turned into, allows these -blam!-ing -blam!-s to run rampant ruining the game.

4 RepliesI've gotten out of spawn killings often but u cant do much about spawing in someones sights or in front of a shotgun runner. Ut's not rift or "one bomb", it's king of the hill and whoever gets the highground first can snipe half map and take out spawns as they occur. 4 games today and 3 were against teams that just camped spawns and never even went for the rift. Sad shit.

3 RepliesThe worst for me was on Pantheon. 3 consecutive spawns went like this: -sniped by enemy near our special ammo before I could even move. -spawned right next to a bladedancer mid swipe. -spawned 3 feet away from our rift as it was being dunked on. I did not bother spawning a 4th time lol

1 ReplyI like people that have a problem and then come up with a solution that is RATIONAL before they start posting in the forums, GG bro.
-
3 RepliesI've never had this happen in any of the rift games I've played...
-
This is exactly why people hate Rift.
-
2 RepliesSeen it and done it. It's a great strat if you get it right.

1 ReplyYeah I can't wait I love spawn camping You can actually feel their screams through the controller
-
8 RepliesYou get spawn camped in rift when you camp in your spawn. The team won't get trapped if they actually stop trying to hang back.
-
27 RepliesSo if your bad you get spawn killed sounds fair enough

4 RepliesOne match, half a dozen times spawn in to a barrage of bullets, die, respawn, barrage of bullets, die, repeat, repeat, repeat. Seriously, wtf?!
-
5 RepliesI like to camp the opposing team's rift. I then will dance and wave my buddies all the way home for the score. Lots of easy kills, too. They just spawn and run forward like I'm not even there.
