Co-op has to happen. I get how the journey is supposed to be a single player, personal one, but I really wanna chill with a buddy while playing.

As long as I can give my friend weapons, armor, and other gear, the coop would be amazing. Dont see why so many people are opposed to this. What if, by some chance, that they actually implemented it, and it had no negative effects on the core game?

Please no. I would much rather that development time being spent on improving the world. There are a huge number of fantastic multiplayer games out there but fewer and fewer great single player games.
